Pourquoi ce drama ?

Vraiment par hasard, j’en ai un peu entendu parler en 2022 et j’ai croisé quelques extraits qui m’ont donné envie.

Why this drama ?

Really by chance, I heard a bit about it in 2022 and came across a few extracts that made me want to read it.

Episode 1

Yoo Ri est une excellente avocate qui se bat pour les plus faibles mais qui a très mauvais caractère et refuse qu’on lui impose quoi que ce soit. Elle décide de tout quitter pour ouvrir un café et dispenser des conseils juridiques. Jeong Ho est un ancien procureur reconverti en propriétaire d’immeubles qui vit de ses loyers et écrit des livres. Les deux sont d’anciens amis d’enfance qui se sont fait passer pour un couple (et sont certainement tombés amoureux l’un de l’autre) et se sont perdus de vue quand Jeong Ho a disparu du jour au lendemain après avoir « rompu » avec Yoo Ri. Ils se retrouvent des années après quand Yoo Ri loue par hasard son café à Jeong Ho. Jeong Ho veut absolument annuler la location et Yoo Ri est prête à l’envoyer au tribunal pour pouvoir louer son café (j’ai oublié de préciser qu’il habite au dessus du café). Doucement, Yoo Ri recommence à prendre sa place dans la vie de Jeong Ho et à lui redonner le sourire. Au passage, on apprend que Jeong Ho est amoureux d’elle (sans blague…).

Episode 1

Yoo Ri is an excellent lawyer who fights for the weakest but has a very bad temper and refuses to have anything imposed on her. She decides to leave everything behind to open a café and give legal advice. Jeong Ho is a former prosecutor turned real estate owner who lives off his rents and writes books. The two are former childhood friends who posed as a couple (and certainly fell in love with each other) and lost touch when Jeong Ho disappeared overnight after « breaking up » with Yoo Ri. They meet up again years later when Yoo Ri accidentally rents out his cafe to Jeong Ho. Jeong Ho is desperate to cancel the lease, and Yoo Ri is ready to take him to court in order to rent out his café (I forgot to mention that he lives above the café). Slowly, Yoo Ri begins to take her place in Jeong Ho’s life again, bringing a smile to his face. In the process, we learn that Jeong Ho is in love with her (no kidding…).

Episode 2

On comprend comment et pourquoi Jeong Ho est amoureux de Yoo Ri (il est même carrément obsédé) et on comprend que Yoo Ri l’apprécie aussi beaucoup. Yoo Ri ouvre son café et rencontre un patient de la clinique psychiatrique (qui est aussi dans l’immeuble et qui est dirigée par le cousin de Jeong Ho) qui souffre de voisins bruyants et qui cherche l’aide juridique de Yoo Ri. Le type étant un peu effrayant, Jeong Ho et son cousin accompagnent Yoo Ri chez lui pour qu’elle constate le bruit et l’aide. Sur le chemin du retour, Jeong Ho demande à son cousin de ne pas developper de sentiments pour Yoo Ri car ils ne peuvent pas (on sent venir le gros secret du style ton père est mort à cause du miens). On comprend d’ailleurs tout : le père de Yoo Ri et 12 collègues sont morts dans le un accident du travail et le père de Yoo Ri a injustement été accusé d’avoir causé l’accident par le juge qui n’est autre que le père de Jeong Ho et le beau fils de l’entreprise ou travaillait le père de Yoo Ri (la famille Dohan). Plus tard, Jeong Ho découvre que son père n’a pas jugé correctement le procès et à fait tomber le père de Yoo Ri. Honteux, Jeon Ho a quitté son poste de procureur et coupé les ponts avec Yoo Ri. On découvre aussi que Jeong Ho enquête sur toute cette histoire et sur le groupe Dohan (sa famille dont il n’est pas proche) et qu’il écrit même un livre à leur sujet. A la fin de l’épisode, Yoo Ri et (surtout) Jeong Ho empêchent le type effrayant de se suicider.

Episode 2

We understand why and how much Jeong Ho is in love with Yoo Ri (he’s downright obsessed), and we understand that Yoo Ri is also very fond of him. Yoo Ri opens her café and meets a patient from the psychiatric clinic (which is also in the building and run by Jeong Ho’s cousin) who is suffering from noisy neighbors and is seeking Yoo Ri’s legal help. The guy is a bit scary, so Jeong Ho and his cousin accompany Yoo Ri to his house to listen to the noises and try to help. On the way back, Jeong Ho asks his cousin not to develop feelings for Yoo Ri because they can’t (we can feel the big secret coming on, like your father died because of mine or something). It suddenly all makes sense: Yoo Ri’s father and 12 colleagues have died in a work accident, and Yoo Ri’s father has been unjustly accused of causing the accident by the judge, who is none other than Jeong Ho’s father and the son-in-law of the company where Yoo Ri’s father worked (the Dohan family). Later, Jeong Ho discovers that his father didn’t judge the case properly and brought down Yoo Ri’s father. Ashamed, Jeon Ho quit his job as prosecutor and cut ties with Yoo Ri. We also discover that Jeong Ho is investigating the whole thing and the Dohan group (his family, to whom he is not close), and is even writing a book about them. At the end of the episode, Yoo Ri and (mostly) Jeong Ho prevent the scary guy from killing himself.

Episode 3

Après l’incident, Yoo Ri commence à avoir des crises de panique/amour à chaque fois qu’elle voir Jeong Ho. Elle tente de se changer les idées en entamant une classe action contre le groupe Dohan et Jeong Ho et elle décident de menacer le groupe pour avoir gain de cause. Ils réussissent mais énervent au passage le CEO (l’oncle de Jeong Ho ?) qui à l’air complètement désaxé et prêt à tout. Pour fêter leur victoire ils organisent un petit apéro au cours duquel Yoo Ri avoue ses sentiments à Jeong Ho a demi mots avant de se faire rejeter. De retour dans son café elle découvre qu’il a été vandalisé assez violemment et Jeong Ho vient la chercher et la protéger.

Episode 3

After the incident, Yoo Ri starts having panic/love attacks every time she sees Jeong Ho. She tries to take her mind off things by starting a class action against the Dohan Group, and she and Jeong Ho decide to threaten the group to get their way. They succeed, but anger the CEO (Jeong Ho’s uncle?) who looks completely unhinged and ready for anything. To celebrate their victory, they organize a small aperitif, during which Yoo Ri almost confesses her feelings to Jeong Ho, only to be rejected. Back at her café, she discovers that it has been vandalized quite violently, and Jeong Ho comes to look for her and protect her.

Episode 4

En attendant que l’enquête sur l’attaque de son café soit résolue (on apprend que tout ça a bien été commandité par l’oncle fou du groupe Dohan), Yoo Ri s’installe avec Jeong Ho. Au café, le fantôme d’une petite fille sévit (et j’ai l’impression que ce n’est pas du tout un fantôme) et Yoo Ri attaque une nouvelle enquête pour aider une femme à démasquer son harceleur. Finalement, le harceleur se trouve être en fait un voisin inquiet qui a remarqué que la femme a 2 filles dont une qu’elle maltraite et qui se trouve être le « fantôme » du café. Yoo Ri et Jeong Ho élucident le mystère, sauvent les 2 petites filles et font arrêter la mère. Yoo Ri avoue ensuite à Jeong Ho qu’elle veut être plus qu’une amie pour lui et l’embrasse (et il lui rend son baiser…yihaaaa !).

Episode 4

While waiting for the investigation into the attack on her cafe to be solved (we learn that it was indeed ordered by the Dohan group’s crazy uncle), Yoo Ri settles in with Jeong Ho. At the café, the ghost of a little girl is rampant (and I have a feeling it’s not a ghost at all) and Yoo Ri takes on a new investigation to help a woman unmask her stalker. In the end, the stalker turns out to be a concerned neighbor who has noticed that the woman has 2 daughters, one of whom she abuses, and who turns out to be the café’s « ghost ». Yoo Ri and Jeong Ho solve the mystery, save the 2 little girls and have the mother arrested. Yoo Ri then confesses to Jeong Ho that she wants to be more than a friend to him and kisses him (and he kisses her back…yihaaaa!).

Episode 5

Eeeet non, il ne l’embrasse pas en retour mais attrape une crampe au cou qui le paralyse. Yoo Ri revient ensuite à la charge et lui avoue ses sentiments pour se faire rejeter et s’entendre dire que ce baiser était illégal. Après l’affaire des petites soeurs, Yoo Ri décide de s’investir (à sa façon) dans la protection des enfants et se faire connaître un peu plus. Elle rencontre une nouvelle victime qui est accusée de dommages corporels sur un homme (son patron) qui a tenté de l’agresser. La femme s’est vue graciée et ne comprend pas pourquoi le procès n’a pas eu lieu et pourquoi on lui pardonne de s’être défendue. Yoo Ri lui suggère de faire annuler la grâce et demande son aide à Jeong Ho (ancien procureur) qui enquête de son côté sur le groupe Dohan et ses liens avec la justice (et son propre père). Tous les deux confrontent l’agresseur et le menacent de l’attaquer en justice (la scène est très drole) et Yoo Ri comprend qu’elle a aussi agressé Jeon Ho en l’embrassant de force (on adore le retournement et sa remise en question) et s’enfuit. Jeong Ho la retrouve complètement saoule et s’occupe d’elle puis elle s’excuse (après avoir dessoûlé) et lui explique qu’elle n’abandonnera pas ses sentiments mais fera les choses différemment (cet épisode tourne autour du consentement, on adore !). Yoo Ri découvre le livre écrit à propose du groupe Dohan. Jeong Ho retrouve la personne qui a vandalisé le café, se bat avec lui et comprend que son oncle (donc c’est bien son oncle) est derrière cette attaque. Il va le confronter et le menace de lui prendre tout ce qu’il a s’il touche à Yoo Ri. Il va ensuite chez Yoo Ri et lui demande de la prendre dans ses bras.

Episode 5

Aaaand no, he doesn’t kiss her back but gets a neck cramp that paralyzes him. Yoo Ri then comes back and confesses her feelings, only to be rejected and told that the kiss was illegal. After the little sisters’ affair, Yoo Ri decides to get involved (in her own way) in the protection of children and make herself known a little more. She meet a new victim who was accused of causing bodily harm to a man (her boss) who had tried to assault her. The woman has been pardoned and can’t understand why the trial hasn’t taken place and why she’s being forgiven for defending herself. Yoo Ri suggests she get the pardon annulled, and asks Jeong Ho (a former prosecutor) for help, as he investigates the Dohan group and its links with the law (and his own father). The two of them confront the assailant and threaten to sue him (it’s a very funny scene), and Yoo Ri realizes that she too has assaulted Jeon Ho by forcibly kissing him (we love the twist and her second-guessing) and runs off. Jeong Ho finds her drunk and takes care of her, then she apologizes (after sobering up) and explains that she won’t abandon her feelings but will do things differently (this episode is all about consent, we love it!). Yoo Ri discovers the book written about the Dohan group. Jeong Ho finds the person who vandalized the café, fights with him and realizes that his uncle (so it really is his uncle) is behind it. He confronts him and threatens to take everything he has if he touches Yoo Ri. He then goes to Yoo Ri’s house and asks her to give him a hug.

Episode 6

L’oncle fou débarque au café et demande à Yoo Ri de travailler pour lui. Jeong Ho le met dehors et Yoo Ri déclenche une poussée de fièvre l’obligeant à se reposer pendant que Jeong Ho assure les consultations. Jeong Ho aide une étudiante et tombe sur un groupe d’étudiants en train de harceler un autre étudiant. Yoo Ri profite de sa maladie pour lire le livre de Jeong Ho (elle ne sait pas encore que c’est lui qui l’a écrit) ce qui la pousse à aller parler à un ancien collègue de son père qui lui apprend que l’accident de son père a fait beaucoup de morts parceque les portes de secours étaient bloquées par des machines et que personne n’en a jamais parlé. On comprend que Yoo Ri pensait aussi que l’accident était de la faute de son père. Jeong Ho prend une décision (on ne sait pas encore laquelle) et annonce à Yoo Ri que lui aussi l’aime mais qu’il doit faire quelque chose avant de pouvoir être avec elle. L’étudiant victime de harcèlement vient au café et se renseigne sur les peines appliquées aux jeunes qui commettent des méfaits, inquiet le serveur du café (un repris de justice) le suit et assiste à l’agression de l’étudiant. Il lui propose de tuer ses agresseurs (pas du tout extrême comme mesure) et on apprend que sa soeur est morte quite a du harcèlement et qu’il a été emprisonné pour avoir enfermé ses agresseur dans un entrepôt et y avoir mis le feu (en les sauvant de justesse). Le serveur décide d’aider l’étudiant en l’enfermant dans une pièce (en lui expliquant comment sortir) et en allumant un feu pour faire accuser ses agresseurs. Au passage, il mêle tout le monde à cette histoire.

Episode 6

Mad Uncle comes to the café and asks Yoo Ri to work for him. Jeong Ho kicks him out and Yoo Ri breaks out in a fever, forcing her to rest while Jeong Ho provides consultations. Jeong Ho helps a student and comes across a group of students harassing another student. Yoo Ri takes advantage of her illness to read Jeong Ho’s book (she doesn’t know that he wrote it yet), which prompts her to go and talk to one of her father’s former colleagues, who tells her that her father’s accident caused many deaths because the emergency doors were blocked by machines, and that no one ever talked about it. We understand that Yoo Ri also thought the accident was her father’s fault. Jeong Ho makes a decision (we don’t yet know what it is) and tells Yoo Ri that he likes her too, but that he has to do something before he can be with her. The harassed student comes to the café and asks about the penalties for young people who commit misdemeanors, and the worried café waiter (an ex-con) follows him and witnesses the student’s assault. He offers to kill his attackers (not an extreme measure at all), and we learn that his sister died as a result of harassment, and that he was imprisoned for locking his attackers in a warehouse and setting it on fire (barely saving them). The waiter decides to help the student by locking him in a room (with instructions on how to get out) and lighting a fire to frame his attackers. In the process, he involves everyone in the story.

Episode 7

Tout notre groupe décide de faire croire à la police (la meilleure amie de Yoo Ri qui sait très bien quand elle ment) qu’ils ont assisté tous ensemble à la tentative de meurtre. Rongée par la culpabilité, Yoo Ri leur demande d’avouer la vérité et Jeong Ho sort du bois : il a obtenu une licence pour devenir avocat et décide de défendre l’étudiant dans un procès pour faire tomber ses harceleurs. Un des harceleurs se trouve être le fils d’un maire qui vient menacer la troupe et Yoo Ri le renvoie dans ses pénates (encore une scène jouissive). On découvre ensuite qu’il connait l’oncle fou qui s’arrange pour leur mettre des bâtons dans les roues. Au final, notre équipe fait tomber tout le monde, les enfants, les parents, le maire etc. Mais le principal harceleur devient fou et attaque Jeong Ho avec une brique avant de le kidnapper. Ses amis le dénoncent et la police et Yoo Ri se précipitent sur les lieux ou le jeune planifie de tuer Jeong Ho. Finalement, Yoo Ri le sauve, le jeune est arrêté et Jeong Ho l’embrasse très passionnément.

Episode 7

Our entire group decides to make the police (Yoo Ri’s best friend, who knows very well when she’s lying) believe that they all witnessed the attempted murder together. Riddled with guilt, Yoo Ri asks them to confess the truth, and Jeong Ho comes out of the woodwork: he’s applied to become a lawyer and decides to defend the student in a trial to bring down his stalkers. One of the stalkers turns out to be the son of a mayor who comes to threaten the troupe, and Yoo Ri sends him packing (another delightful scene). We then discover that he knows the crazy uncle who’s been getting in their way. In the end, our team brings everyone down – the kids, the parents, the mayor, etc. – but the main stalker goes berserk and attacks Jeong Ho with a brick before kidnapping him. His friends report him, and the police and Yoo Ri rush to the scene where the stalker is planning to kill Jeong Ho. In the end, Yoo Ri saves him, the boy is arrested and Jeong Ho kisses her very passionately.

Episode 8

Pendant le baiser, Jeong Ho s’enfuit et évite Yoo Ri : il avait tout un plan pour qu’ils se mettent ensemble après qu’il ait réglé leurs histoires avec le groupe Dohan et tout est tombé à l’eau à cause de ce baiser. Jeong Ho continue ses activités pour faire tomber le groupe Dohan, même si cela doit affecter ses parents. Tout le groupe part faire du bénévolat sur une île et Jeong Ho et Yoo Ri se retrouvent pris dans une histoire de voisinage entre 2 grands mères que chacun décide de défendre contre l’autre. Pour la faire courte, 2 grand mères habitent sur un même terrain et sont amies depuis 30 ans, un jour, une des grand mères interdit l’accès à son terrain à l’autre et une guerre commence. On comprend que la grand mère en question cache quelque chose (quelqu’un?) sur son terrain et Yoo Ri se précipite pour découvrir ce qu’il en est (suivie de près par Jeong Ho qui veut la protéger). Sur le continent, l’oncle fou découvre que Jeong Ho a donné de nouvelles preuves des méfaits de son groupe. Finalement, on apprends que la grand mère cache de la marijuana sur son terrain et que son fils exploite sa plantation. Au passage, Yoo Ri mange un gâteau à la marijuana (que la grand mère utilise pour calmer ses douleurs) et perd la boussole. Le lendemain, au moment ou il prévoit de déclarer sa flamme à Yoo Ri, les infos dévoilent qu’il est de la famille Dohan et que son père a couvert les agissements du groupe. Yoo Ri comprend tout et Jeong Ho lui demande de ne pas le laisser.

Episode 8

During the kiss, Jeong Ho runs off and avoids Yoo Ri: he had a whole plan for them to get together after he’d settled their issues with the Dohan group, and it all fell through because of that kiss. Jeong Ho continues his activities to bring down the Dohan Group, even if it means affecting his parents. The whole group leaves to volunteer on an island, and Jeong Ho and Yoo Ri get caught up in a neighborly dispute between 2 grandmothers, and each decides to defend against the other. To cut it short, 2 grandmothers live on the same land and have been friends for 30 years. One day, one of the grandmothers forbids access to her land to the other, and a war begins. It becomes clear that the grandmother in question is hiding something (someone?) on her land, and Yoo Ri rushes to find out what it is (closely followed by Jeong Ho, who wants to protect her). On the mainland, the crazy uncle discovers that Jeong Ho has given new evidence of his group’s misdeeds. Finally, we learn that the grandmother is hiding marijuana on her land and that her son is running her plantation. In the process, Yoo Ri eats a marijuana cake (which the grandmother uses to soothe her aches and pains) and loses her mind. The next day, just as he’s planning to declare his love for Yoo Ri, the news reveals that he’s from the Dohan family and that his father has covered up the group’s activities. Yoo Ri understands everything and Jeong Ho asks her not to leave him.

Episode 9

Yoo Ri est profondément blessée que Jeong Ho ne lui ait jamais avoué qui était sa famille (elle pensait qu’il refusait ses sentiments parce qu’elle n’était pas assez bien, pas à cause de son secret) et se fait juger pour exercice illégal du droit (son serveur a dispensé des conseils juridiques). Jeong Ho vient une nouvelle fois la sauver et cela énerve Yoo Ri encore plus. En suivant la piste d’une nouvelle enquête, Yoo Ri rencontre un shaman qui lui promet que deux hommes vont lui apporter du sang et des larmes. Le soir même, l’oncle fou lui rend visite, l’attaque et elle se défend et le blesse (du sang) puis Jeong Ho intervient, la défend et lui avoue qu’il l’aime et que c’est pour ça qu’il ne lui a rien dit (et elle pleure). Comme le shaman est tombé plutôt juste, elle retourne le voir et se fait arnaquer, comme une bonne partie du groupe. Yoo Ri apprend que Jeong Ho est l’écrivain du livre contre le groupe Dohan. Toute la troupe part en croisade pour récupérer l’argent volé par le shaman avec succès. Jeong Ho apprend qu’il a été manipulé par son père et comprend ce que ça fait de se faire mentir par les gens en qui on a confiance. Il finit par retrouver Yoo Ri et s’excuse (en plein milieu de la route…excellent choix de lieu) au même moment ou une voiture leur fonce dessus.

Episode 9

Yoo Ri is deeply hurt that Jeong Ho never confessed to her who his family was (she thought he denied her feelings because she wasn’t good enough, not because of his secret), and gets tried for illegal practice of law (her waiter gave legal advice). Jeong Ho comes to her rescue once again, and this angers Yoo Ri even more. Following the trail of a new investigation, Yoo Ri meets a shaman who promises that two men will bring her blood and tears. That same evening, the crazy uncle pays her a visit, attacks her and she defends herself and hurts him (blood), then Jeong Ho steps in, defends her and confesses that he loves her and that’s why he didn’t tell her (and she cries). As the shaman was quite right, she goes back to him and gets conned, as do most of the group. Yoo Ri learns that Jeong Ho is the writer of the book against the Dohan group. The whole group goes on a crusade to recover the money stolen by the shaman, with great success. Jeong Ho learns that he has been manipulated by his father and understands what it’s like to be lied to by people you trust. He finally finds Yoo Ri and apologizes (in the middle of the road…excellent choice of location) just as a car runs into them.

Episode 10

Sous les yeux de Jeong Ho, la voiture renverse Yoo Ri et l’envoie directement à l’hôpital ou elle se retrouve les 2 bras dans le plâtre. Jeong Ho devient un peu fou en cherchant le coupable (a priori son oncle) et en essayant de la protéger. Finalement, Yoo Ri lui demande de la laisser tranquille car elle ne l’a pas encore pardonné. La mère de Jeong Ho quitte son père et s’installe chez lui. « Grâce » à son grand père, Jeong Ho apprend qu’il que son père n’a aidé le groupe Dohan que parce que son grand père a menacé de lui enlever sa femme et son fils. Yoo Ri prend en main une affaire d’héritage (malgré son absence de mains pour le moment 😉 ) et finit complètement bourrée, se fait ramener par Jeong Ho et tente de le séduire (mais il refuse). Elle partage avec sa mère sa difficulté à pardonner et sa mère l’aide (très poétiquement) à aller de l’avant. Elle finit par confronter le père de Jeong Ho et propose à Jeong Ho de trainer en justice les personnes qui doivent l’être pour aller de l’avant (et bien sur il accepte).

Episode 10

Before Jeong Ho’s eyes, the car knocks Yoo Ri down and sends her straight to hospital, where she ends up with both arms in a cast. Jeong Ho goes a little mad, looking for the culprit (presumably his uncle) and trying to protect her. Finally, Yoo Ri asks him to leave her alone, as she hasn’t forgiven him yet. Jeong Ho’s mother leaves his father and moves in with him. « Thanks » to his grandfather, Jeong Ho learns that his father only helped the Dohan group because he threatened to take his wife and son away from him. Yoo Ri takes charge of an inheritance case and ends up completely drunk, getting a ride with Jeong Ho and trying to seduce him (but he refuses). She shares with her mother her difficulty in forgiving, and her mother helps her (very poetically) to move on. Eventually, she confronts Jeong Ho’s father and suggests that they both take the people who need to be taken to court in order to move on (and of course he accepts).

Episode 11

Yoo Ri découvre que Jeong Ho enquête sur le groupe Dohan et son père depuis longtems. Ils decident, avec la mère de Jeong Ho, de passer à l’action et commencent par faire virer l’oncle fou de la direction du groupe. Par hasard, Yoo Ri comprent un peu que Jeong Ho est fou d’elle depuis des années alors qu’il lui fait croire que c’est tout récent et que ses sentiments sont arrivés après qu’elle lui ait avoué les siens. Yoo Ri et Jeong Ho se plongent dans l’affaire d’héritage et aident leur cliente à récupérer une partie de son héritage et a comprendre que ses parents l’ont toujours aimée. Yoo Ri comprend pour de bon que Jeong Ho l’aime depuis le début (et qu’il a acheté l’immeuble du café pour elle) et décide de le confronter. Entre temps, Jeong Ho retrouve la piste du conducteur de la voiture et comprend qu’il est lié au groupe Dohan. L’oncle fou, apprenant que Jeong Ho a compris, tue de ses mains le conducteur (on a franchi la ligne a ne pas franchir, le type a complètement pété les plombs) et planifie un « cadeau » pour Jeong Ho (et je n’ai pas hâte de découvrir ce cadeau). Jeong Ho retrouve Yoo Ri qui le force a avouer qu’il l’aime depuis toujours, ils s’embrassent très passionnément et rentrent chez Jeong Ho pour la nuit (;)).

Episode 11

Yoo Ri discovers that Jeong Ho has been investigating the Dohan Group and her father for a long time. Together with Jeong Ho’s mother, they decide to take action, starting by getting the crazy uncle fired from the group’s management. By chance, Yoo Ri realizes that Jeong Ho has been crazy about her for years, although he’s led her to believe that it’s only recent, and that his feelings came after she confessed hers. Yoo Ri and Jeong Ho delve into the inheritance case and help their client recover part of her inheritance and understand that her parents have always loved her. Yoo Ri realizes that Jeong Ho has loved her all along (and that he bought the café building for her) and decides to confront him. Meanwhile, Jeong Ho tracks down the driver of the car and realizes that he is linked to the Dohan group. The crazy uncle, learning that Jeong Ho has figured it out, kills the driver with his own hands (we’ve crossed the line, the guy’s completely lost it) and plans a « gift » for Jeong Ho (and I’m not looking forward to finding out what that gift is). Jeong Ho reunites with Yoo Ri, who forces him to confess that he’s loved her all his life, they kiss very passionately and return to Jeong Ho’s house for the night (;)).

Episode 12

Yoo Ri et Jeong Ho sont interrompus par leurs meilleurs amis et Yoo Ri demande à Jeong Ho de garder leur relation secrète. Jeong Ho accepte et ils cachent leur relation (tellement mal que tout le monde comprend). Le cousin de Jeong Ho, psychiatre dans l’immeuble, se fait suivre par une ancienne patiente folle de lui qui finit par kidnapper Yoo Ri par jalousie. L’oncle fou la sauve et laisse s’échapper la patiente folle qui retrouve le cousin, se fait rejeter et tente de se tuer (et de le tuer). Elle finit par se faire arrêter et Yoo Ri et Jeong Ho ont une mise au point : Yoo Ri lui demande de lui faire confiance et d’arrêter de s’inquiéter pour elle. Ils finissent par passer la nuit ensemble.

Episode 12

Yoo Ri and Jeong Ho are interrupted by their best friends and Yoo Ri asks Jeong Ho to keep their relationship a secret. Jeong Ho agrees and they hide their relationship (so badly that everyone understands). Jeong Ho’s cousin, a psychiatrist in the building, is stalked by a former patient who is crazy about him and ends up kidnapping Yoo Ri out of jealousy. The crazy uncle rescues her and lets the crazy patient escape, she finds the cousin, is rejected and tries to kill herself (and him). She ends up getting arrested, and Yoo Ri and Jeong Ho have a talk: Yoo Ri asks him to trust her and stop worrying about her. They end up spending the night together.

Episode 13

Yoo Ri et Jeong Ho vivent leur amour un peu plus au grand jour et leurs amis se sentent seuls et leur demandent de ralentir leurs ardeurs. Contre l’avis de Jeong Ho, Yoo Ri prend en main un cas de harcèlement au travail impliquant un membre de l’assemblée, le directeur d’un journal, un procureur et…l’oncle fou. Yoo Ri et Jeong Ho se disputent et s’ignorent, énervant encore plus leurs amis. Finalement, ils se réconcilient et déclarent ouvertement la guerre à l’oncle et toute sa clique (et on a pas hâte de voir comment l’oncle va se venger…).

Episode 13

Yoo Ri and Jeong Ho are living their love a little more in the open, and their friends are feeling lonely and asking them to slow down. Against Jeong Ho’s advice, Yoo Ri takes on a case of workplace harassment involving an assemblyman, a newspaper editor, a prosecutor and…the crazy uncle. Yoo Ri and Jeong Ho argue and ignore each other, further irritating their friends. Finally, they make up and openly declare war on the uncle and his gang (and we are not waiting to see how the uncle gets his revenge…).

Episode 14

Le groupe fait tomber le politique qui a agressé a cliente de Yoo Ri et une « guerre » froide commence lorsque ce même politique tente de la faire passer pour une profiteuse qui était consentante. L’affaire est confiée à un procureur qui n’est autre que l’ex de Yoo Ri et l’ennemi de Jeong Ho. Le grand père de Jeong Ho l’envoie sans rien lui dire dans un rendez-vous arrangé et Jeong Ho s’enfuie et achète une bague de fiançailles pour Yoo Ri sur un coup de tête sans savoir comment faire sa demande. Le groupe trouve une autre victime du politique et prévoit de le faire parler pour faire tomber le groupe. Ils font aussi en sorte que tous ces magouilleurs se retournent les uns contre les autres. Le grand père de Jeong Ho s’en mêle et s’arrange pour que le politique fasse tomber son fils (l’oncle fou), qui l’apprend et qui paye une petite visite à son père. Jeong Ho planifie sa demande en mariage mais échoue à chaque fois avant de demander sincèrement sa main à Yoo Ri.

Episode 14

The group takes down the politician who assaulted Yoo Ri’s client, and a cold « war » begins when the same politician tries to make her look like a willing gold digger. The case is assigned to a prosecutor who is none other than Yoo Ri’s ex and Jeong Ho’s enemy. Jeong Ho’s grandfather sends him on a blind date, and Jeong Ho runs off and buys an engagement ring for Yoo Ri on a whim, without knowing how to propose. The group find another victim of the politician and plan to make him talk to bring down the group. They also arrange for all these schemers to turn on each other. Jeong Ho’s grandfather gets involved and arranges for the politician to bring down his son (the crazy uncle), who finds out and pays his father a visit. Jeong Ho plans to propose marriage, but fails every time before sincerely asking Yoo Ri for her hand.

Episode 15

Yoo Ri refuse la demande (pas prête à devenir de la même famille que la famille de Jeong Ho…ouch) et le grand père de Jeong Ho se fait presque tuer par l’oncle fou qui disparaît ensuite de la circulation. Les meileurs amis de Yoo Ri et Jeong Ho sont au bord du divorce (parcequ’ils s’aiment trop) et la mère de Jeong Ho aussi (parcequ’elle aime trop son mari). La mère de Jeong Ho et Yoo Ri se saoulent ensemble et finissent par se battre parce que Yoo Ri ne supporte pas ces histoires de divorce. Elles finissent par se réconcilier et Yoo Ri explique à Jeong Ho qu’elle ne veut pas l’épouser pour ne pas faire de promesse qu’elle risque de ne pas tenir (si elle meurt etc.). Jeong Ho continue de chercher l’oncle fou qui kidnappe la mère de Yoo Ri et l’utilise pour se venger de lui (on ne sait toujours pas de quoi et pourquoi…). Jeong Ho arrive à convaincre le bras droit de l’oncle fou de l’aider, Yoo Ri retrouve sa mère (dans un conteneur frigorifié…l’oncle fou avait bien prévu de la tuer) et apprend que l’oncle fou a Jeong Ho. Elle le retrouve sur le parvis d’une église en pleine prise d’otage et voulant lui parler sous peine de tuer Jeong Ho. L’oncle fou lui explique pourquoi il la harcèle (et on avait bien hâte de savoir) : la loi n’a jamais été de son côté pourtant elle a décidé d’aider les plus faible avec la loi et il se demande si elle restera dans le cadre de la loi s’il fait du mal à ceux qu’elle aime (on savait qu’il était fou mais quand même…). Il finit par poignarder Jeong Ho et se fait désarmer en tentant de se suicider (trop facile !).

Episode 15

Yoo Ri refuses the proposal (not ready to be related to Jeong Ho’s family…ouch) and Jeong Ho’s grandfather is almost killed by the crazy uncle, who then disappears off the face of the earth. Yoo Ri and Jeong Ho’s best friends are on the verge of divorce (because they love each other too much) and so is Jeong Ho’s mother (because she loves her husband too much). Jeong Ho’s mother and Yoo Ri get drunk together and end up fighting because Yoo Ri can’t stand all this divorce stuff. Eventually they make up and Yoo Ri explains to Jeong Ho that she doesn’t want to marry him because she doesn’t want to make promises she might not keep (if she dies, etc.). Jeong Ho continues to search for the crazy uncle who kidnapped Yoo Ri’s mother and is using her to take revenge on him (we still don’t know for what and why…). Jeong Ho convinces the crazy uncle’s right-hand man to help him, Yoo Ri finds her mother (in a refrigerated container…the crazy uncle had planned to kill her) and learns that the crazy uncle has Jeong Ho. She finds him in front of a church in the middle of a hostage situation, wanting to talk to her or risk killing Jeong Ho. The crazy uncle explains why he’s been harassing her (and we couldn’t wait to find out): the law has never been on her side, yet she’s decided to help the weakest with the law, and he wonders if she’ll stay within the law if he hurts the ones she loves (we knew he was crazy, but still…). He ends up stabbing Jeong Ho and is disarmed in an attempt to commit suicide (too easy!).

Episode 16

Jeong Ho revient à lui à l’hopital et assiste à une déclaration d’amour de Yoo Ri, une dispute entre ses parents et une dispute entre ses meilleurs amis. Yoo Ri tente de faire de la médiation pour ressouder les couples et leur fait comprendre que la solution est de communiquer (très bonne leçon de vie, à appliquer !). Tout ces événements font comprendre à Yoo Ri que le mariage n’est pas une promesse qu’il ne faut jamais briser mais une façon de se promettre de vivre tout ce que la vie réserve ensemble, elle demande donc Jeong Ho en mariage et il accepte. Jeong Ho décide de devenir officiellement avocat au café. Jeong Ho et Yoo Ri se marient sous une tempête surprise et le café ne désemplit pas.

Episode 16

Jeong Ho returns to the hospital and witnesses a declaration of love from Yoo Ri, an argument between his parents and a fight between his best friends. Yoo Ri tries mediation to bring the couples together, and makes them understand that the solution is to communicate (a very good life lesson, to be applied!). All these events make Yoo Ri realize that marriage is not a promise never to be broken, but a way of pledging to live together for all that life has to offer, so she proposes to Jeong Ho and he accepts. Jeong Ho decides to officially become a lawyer at the café. Jeong Ho and Yoo Ri get married in a surprise storm, and the café is never empty.

Mon avis

J’ai vraiment bien aimé ce drama : une jolie romance, plusieurs intrigues et une gross intrigue en toile de fond, des sujets de société et pas mal d’humour.

Les acteurs principaux jouent assez bien et leur romance est crédible. Elle est impulsive, sans filtre et maligne et lui est calme, réfléchi et protecteur. Forcément,leur duo marche très bien et fait parfois des étincelles que j’ai adoré regarder.

Les acteurs secondaires sont aussi très bons et chacun apporte quelque chose à l’histoire : les meilleures amies célibataires qui adorent critiquer, le serveur froid et distant, le serveur jovial et enthousiaste, le médecin timide et réservé, le détective privé qui flirte avec la légalité, tous contribuent à maintenir de l’humour, des surprises et de l’action. L’acteur qui joue l’oncle fou joue très bien, on le déteste du début à la fin mais il arrive aussi à nous faire un peu de peine.

J’ai beaucoup aimé les petites scènes ou les acteurs s’adressent à nous directement, comme dans un confessionnal, et apportent des explications sur ce qu’ils vivent ou ce à quoi ils assistent. C’était rafraîchissant et a contribué à me faire rentrer dans l’histoire et être un peu plus curieuse de ce qui allait se passer par la suite.

La romance est très bien même si ce n’est pas la romance dudit l’année, on est sur une relation très tendre de meilleurs amis qui deviennent amants, pas beaucoup de scènes torrides mais j’ai ça fait quand même le taff.

J’ai beaucoup aimé les différents sujets juridiques traités : harcèlement, consentement, maltraitance etc. Parce qu’ils sont rarement abordés dans les dramas romantiques mais qu’ils sont trop présents dans la société et que cela ne fait pas de mal d’en parler un peu.

Les décors, les costumes et la bande originale ne sont pas incroyables mais on est sur un drama « moderne et « tranche de vie », je ne m’attendais donc pas à être éblouie.

My opinion

I really enjoyed this drama: a pretty romance, several plots and a big plot in the background, social issues and a lot of humor.

The main actors play quite well and their romance is believable. She’s impulsive, unfiltered and smart, and he’s calm, thoughtful and protective. Inevitably, their duo works very well and sometimes creates sparks that I loved watching.

The supporting cast is also very good, and everyone brings something to the story: the single best friends who love to criticize, the cold and distant waiter, the jovial and enthusiastic one, the shy and reserved doctor, the private detective who flirts with the law, all contribute to keeping the humor, surprises and action going. The actor who plays the crazy uncle is very good: we hate him from beginning to end, but he also manages to make us feel a little sorry for him.

I really liked the little scenes where the actors address us directly, like in a confessional, and explain what they’re going through or what they’re witnessing. It was refreshing and helped to draw me into the story and make me a little more curious about what was going to happen next.

The romance is very good, even if it’s not the romance of the year, we’re on a very tender relationship of best friends who become lovers, not a lot of torrid scenes but it did the job all the same.

I really liked the different legal topics covered: harassment, consent, abuse etc. Because they’re rarely addressed in romantic dramas, but they’re all too present in society, and it doesn’t hurt to talk about them a little.

The sets, costumes and soundtrack aren’t incredible, but this is a « modern, slice-of-life » drama, so I wasn’t expecting to be dazzled.

Je recommande pour ceux qui recherchent une histoire avec un peu de rebondissements (mais pas trop) quelques scènes de romance (mais pas trop) et des thèmes de société.

Si vous recherchez une romance torride, de l’action à n’en plus finir, des frissons et du suspens, je pense que vous serez déçus.

I recommend it for those looking for a story with a few twists (but not too many), some romance (but not too much) and some social themes.

If you’re looking for steamy romance, non-stop action, thrills and suspense, I think you’ll be disappointed.
