Pourquoi ce drama ?

Parce que je suis tombée sur ce drama pas mal mis en avant sur les réseaux sociaux en attendant la sortie complète de Love Next Door. Donc pas vraiment d’attentes.

Why this drama ?

Because I came across this drama quite a bit promoted on social networks while waiting for the full release of Love Next Door. So no real expectations.

Episode 1

Na A Jeong est une actrice qui enchaine les petits rôles dans des dramas et rêve de percer dans le show business. Comme elle ne perce pas, elle accepte aussi des petits rôles en se faisant passer pour une autre dans la vraie vie. Lee Ji Han est un des héritiers du groupe LJ, prêt à tout pour que son grand frère soit nommé président et pour réussir à son tour. Lee Do Han, son grand frère, vit à New York et n’aspire qu’à vivre tranquillement et cache son homosexualité à tout le monde sauf à A Jeong, sa meilleure amie. Pour aider son frère à se hisser au pouvoir, Ji Han rêve de le marier à Yoon Chae Won, une autre héritière, comme le voudrait leur grand père. Malade, le grand père en question convoque tous ses petits enfants pour leur annoncer que Do Han héritera du groupe s’il accepte d’épouser Chae Won (et on découvre que Ji Han et lui ont 2 demis frères et soeurs qui travaillent dans le groupe et qui les détestent). Ji Han découvre l’existence de A Jeong, pense comprendre qu’elle est en couple avec Do Han et fait tout pour les séparer. Pour s’échapper de l’impasse dans laquelle il se trouve, Do Han demande à A Jeong de se marier avec elle pendant 3 ans.

Episode 1

Na A Jeong is an actress who plays small roles in dramas and dreams of breaking into show business. As she doesn’t break through, she also accepts small roles by pretending to be someone else in real life. Lee Ji Han is one of the heirs to the LJ Group, ready to do anything to make his older brother president and succeed in his own right. Lee Do Han, his older brother, lives in New York and aspires to a quiet life, hiding his homosexuality from everyone except A Jeong, his best friend. To help his brother rise to power, Ji Han dreams of marrying him off to Yoon Chae Won, another heiress, as their grandfather would like. Ill, the grandfather in question summons all his grandchildren to announce that Do Han will inherit the group if he agrees to marry Chae Won (and we discover that he and Ji Han have 2 half-siblings who work in the group and hate them). Ji Han discovers the existence of A Jeong, misunderstands that she is in a relationship with Do Han and does everything in his power to keep them apart. To escape from the impasse in which he finds himself, Do Han asks A Jeong to marry him for 3 years.

Episode 2

Flashback : On comprend que Ji Han et Do Han sont les enfants illégitimes de l’héritière du groupe LJ (qui vivait loin de son mari, ses « enfants » légitimes et son père) et qu’ils se sont retrouvés orphelins très tôt (soit disant à cause de Ji Han). Après le décès de leurs parents, ils sont retournés vivre dans la maison de famille avec le mari officiel de leur mère et ses enfants (je n’ai pas bien compris s’ils sont aussi les enfants de leur mère) et Ji Han a décidé qu’il se ferait une place dans le groupe avec son frère quoi qu’il arrive. Après avoir tenté de séduire son grand père, acheter ses secrétaires, Ji Han réussit à se faire embaucher dans le groupe grâce à un recrutement à l’aveugle au grand désespoir de son grand père.

Présent : A Jeong ne répond pas à Do Han et il lui demande d’aller l’attendre dans sa voiture. Dans le parking, des sbires de la belle famille cherchent à l’attraper et Ji Han la sauve et s’enfuie avec elle. Elle finit par sauter du véhicule (elle est complètement barrée) et se réveille chez les deux frères. Do Han lui explique qui il est et lui redemande de l’épouser pendant 3 ans et son frère continue de tout faire pour qu’elle refuse, il lui offre même de l’argent (qu’elle envisage d’accepter et d’utiliser pour offrir une greffe de cheveux à son père hahaha !). Elle finit par refuser l’argent et ils se saoulent, confondent la voiture du grand père avec un taxi, commèrent à son sujet et finissent la nuit chez lui. En plus de l’argent (qu’elle a refusé), Ji Han s’arrange pour la faire recruter sur un drama, elle l’apprend et quitte le tournage. Elle retrouve aussi Ji Han, le frappe (oui oui !) et accepte la proposition de Do Han sous ses yeux. 

Episode 2

Flashback: We understand that Ji Han and Do Han are the illegitimate children of the heiress of the LJ Group (who lived far from her husband, her legitimate « children » and her father) and that they were orphaned at an early age (supposedly because of Ji Han). After the death of their parents, they returned to live in the family home with their mother’s official husband and his children (I didn’t quite understand whether they were also their mother’s children), and Ji Han decided that he would make a place for himself in the group with his brother no matter what. After trying to seduce his grandfather, buy off his secretaries, Ji Han manages to get himself hired into the group through blind recruitment, much to his grandfather’s dismay.

Present: A Jeong doesn’t answer Do Han and he asks her to wait for him in his car. In the parking lot, the in-laws try to grab her, and Ji Han saves her and runs off with her. She eventually jumps out of the car (she’s completely crazy) and wakes up at the brothers’ house. Do Han explains who he is and asks her again to marry him for 3 years, but her brother continues to do everything he can to get her to refuse, even offering her money (which she plans to accept and use to give her father a hair transplant hahaha!). She eventually refuses the money and they get drunk, confuse the grandfather’s car with a cab, gossip about him and end the night at his place. In addition to the money (which she refused), Ji Han arranges to have her recruited for a drama, she finds out about it and leaves the set. She also finds Ji Han, hits him (yes, yes!) and accepts Do Han’s proposal before his very eyes. 

Episode 3

Do Han et A Jeong s’accordent pour sauter le pas et Ji Han fais tout pour les en empêcher (lui aussi est complètement fou). Par hasard, A Jeong et lui se retrouvent sur le terrain vague sur lequel il souhaite faire construire le centre commercial de ses rêves et ils tombent sur une famille qu’il a arnaqué pour une terre et pour laquelle elle s’est fait passer pour la meilleure amie de leur belle fille. A Jeong réussit à sauver Ji Han qui se faisait attaquer par tout le village. Elle annonce à sa famille qu’elle se marie, signe son contrat avec Do Han et les deux préparent leur histoire. On comprend que Chae Won (l’héritière) est amoureuse de Ji Han (dont elle est le 1er amour) sauf que Ji Han commence à avoir des sentiments pour A Jeong (il martyrise même un membre de tournage qu’il entend mal parler au sujet d’A Jeong). Au même moment, A Jeong voit Ji Han et l’héritière ensemble et ne reste pas de marbre non plus. Do Han et A Jeong se rendent chez le grand père et mettent leur plan a exécution pour que le grand père enterre tout projet de succession pour Do Han. A Jeong met le paquet pour le choquer : demandes folles, non désir d’enfant, fessée à Do Han devant tout le monde, elle se régale (et moi aussi !). Ji Han comprend qu’elle est la porte de sortie de Do Han, le grand père décide contre toutes attentes d’autoriser leur mariage et Ji Han annonce à A Jeong qu’il a décidé de la voler à son frère.

Episode 3

Do Han and A Jeong agree to take the plunge, and Ji Han does everything in his power to stop them (he, too, is completely mad). By chance, he and A Jeong end up on the wasteland where he wants to build his dream shopping mall, and they run into a family he’s conned into giving him land, and for whom she’s pretended to be their daughter-in-law’s best friend. A Jeong manages to save Ji Han, who was being attacked by the whole village. She announces to her family that she’s getting married, signs her contract with Do Han and the two prepare their story. We understand that Chae Won (the heiress) is in love with Ji Han (for whom she is the 1st love), except that Ji Han is beginning to have feelings for A Jeong (he even bullies a member of the film crew he hears talking badly about A Jeong). At the same time, A Jeong sees Ji Han and the heiress together and doesn’t remain unmoved either. Do Han and A Jeong go to the grandfather’s house and put their plan into action so that the grandfather buries any plans for Do Han’s succession. A Jeong pulls out all the stops to shock him: insane demands, unwillingness to have children, spanking Do Han in front of everyone – she’s having a ball (and so am I!). Ji Han realizes she’s Do Han’s way out, the grandfather decides against all odds to allow their marriage and Ji Han tells A Jeong he’s decided to steal her from his brother. 

Episode 4

Ji Han clarifies son objectif : il veut séduire A Jeong pour qu’elle soit tellement amoureuse de lui qu’elle annule le mariage avec son frère. Le grand père approuve le mariage, remet les demis frères et soeurs à leur place (on a la confirmation qu’ils ont bien la même mère que Do Han et Ji Han) et va se coucher. Pour la séduire, Ji Han emmène A Jeong à Busan voir un film de sa réalisatrice préférée, il lui fait rencontrer la réalisatrice en question et l’emmène dîner. Sur place, A Jeong rencontre Na Ri, une ancienne camarade de classe devenue actrice qui la harcèle régulièrement et la fait embaucher sur ses dramas pour la torturer, Ji Han prend la défense de A Jeong et se débrouille pour humilier ladite actrice (j’adore ce genre de moments). Ils terminent leur voyage (c’est clair qu’ils se plaisent) et Ji Han fait une petite crise de panique (il pleut, ça lui rappelle l’accident mortel de sa mère) et A Jeong arrive à le calmer. Comprenant qu’il commence à avoir des sentiments, il décide de trouver quelqu’un d’autre pour la séduire et emprunte des candidats de rendez-vous à l’aveugle à l’héritière (qui pense qu’il fait ça parce qu’il est amoureux d’elle). Au lieu d’aller enregistrer son mariage avec Do Han, A Jeong se rend au rendez-vous organisé par Ji Han en pensant l’y trouver. En parallèle, Ji Han apprend que le garçon qui participe au rendez-vous n’est pas un type bien, il lâche tout (tout = l’héritière sur le point de lui déclarer sa flamme) pour aller sauver A Jeong qui est complètement abattue (eh oui, elle pensait le retrouver). Le fameux rendez-vous est infâme et finit par insulter Ji Han, A Jeong le défend et Ji Han la sauve en buvant une bouteille de Whisky (j’ai mal pour son estomac). Il lui avoue ensuite qu’il ne peut pas s’empêcher de vouloir la sauver. Do Han rencontre quelques incidents étranges dans son studio (courts circuits provoqués etc.) et tombe nez à nez avec un type qui le connait (je parie sur un ex un peu borderline). 

Episode 4

Ji Han clarifies his objective: he wants to seduce A Jeong so that she’ll be so in love with him that she’ll cancel the wedding with his brother. The grandfather approves the marriage, puts the half-siblings in their place (we get confirmation that they have the same mother as Do Han and Ji Han) and goes to bed. To seduce her, Ji Han takes A Jeong to Busan to see a film by her favorite director; he introduces her to the director in question and takes her out to dinner. While there, A Jeong meets Na Ri, a former classmate turned actress who regularly harasses her and hires her on her dramas to torture her. Ji Han comes to A Jeong’s defense and manages to humiliate the said actress (I love moments like this). They finish their trip (they’re clearly like each other), Ji Han has a little panic attack (it’s raining, reminding him of his mother’s fatal accident) and A Jeong manages to calm him down. Realizing that he’s starting to have feelings, he decides to find someone else to seduce her and borrows blind date candidates from the heiress (who thinks he’s doing this because he’s in love with her). Instead of registering her marriage to Do Han, A Jeong goes to Ji Han’s date, thinking she’ll find him there. At the same time, Ji Han learns that the boy attending the date is not a nice guy, so he drops everything (everything = the heiress about to declare her love for him) to go and rescue A Jeong, who is completely devastated (yes, she thought she’d find him). The date is awfull and ends up insulting Ji Han, A Jeong defends him and Ji Han saves her by drinking a bottle of Whisky (I feel bad for his stomach). He then confesses that he can’t help wanting to save her. Do Han encounters some strange incidents in his studio (induced short circuits etc.) and comes face to face with a guy who knows him (my money’s on a borderline ex). 

Episode 5

L’homme mystérieux (qui ressemble beaucoup à un ex) promet à Do Han qu’il le blessera (sympa) et qu’ils se reverront avant de filer. Ji Han, saoul comme jamais, s’assome en essayant de porter A Jeong et se rêveille chez elle. Il est tout de suite infâme avec la famille d’A Jeong qu’il accuse de l’avoir kidnappé et A Jeong lui montre des vidéos de lui la veille pour prouver qu’il s’est incrusté chez eux et était intenable (j’adore qu’elle sacha à l’avance qu’il va faire une scène et qu’elle le filme pour éviter tout débat). Ils s’embrassent presque (par accident) et Do Han, inquiet, débarque et finit par découvrir que Ji Han est aussi là. En écoutant aux portes, Ji Han apprend que son frère a prévu de partir aux Etats Unis avec A Jeong et il pique une crise. Do Han lui demande d’attendre de le harceler et le menace de ne plus être son frère s’il ne le laisse pas tranquille (et accessoirement il ne comprend pas que Ji Han s’oppose au mariage alors que le grand père a accepté). L’héritière demande au grand père de lui donner Ji Han (lol) puis elle rencontre Ji Han et lui demande qui est A Jeong parce qu’elle est un peu jalouse (honnête). A Jeong débarque au même moment et entend Ji Han la critiquer, elle le confronte et disparaît. Au mémorial de la mère des 2 frères, on comprend ce qu’il s’est passé : un reporter cherchant à savoir ce qu’elle était devenue après avoir disparu de la circulation s’est fait passer pour son ami au premier de Ji Han qui l’a ramené chez lui. Plus tard dans la soirée, le reporter a pris en chasse leur voiture, sous la pluie, entrainant un accident et sa mort (avec Ji Han dans la voiture). Ji Han s’en veut donc d’avoir indiqué au reporter leur lieu de vie, se sent coupable de sa mort et est phobique de la pluie. Après avoir visité le mémorial de leur mère, les 2 frères, l’héritière, le grand père et A Jeong tombent sur le reporter en question et le grand père devient fou de rage. Do Han l’emmène ainsi que l’héritière et A Jeong pars avec Ji Han. Ils se font suivre par le reporter et A Jeong le sème puis ils se retrouvent dans un café ou elle le console (très mignon) et ils retournent voir l’urne de sa mère et A Jeong s’excuse de se marier avec son fils pour de faux. En l’attendant sous la pluie Ji Han réalise que quand il la regarde il n’a plus d’angoisse et en sortant elle trébuche dans ses bras et il jette son parapluie pour la rattraper. 

Episode 5

The mysterious man (who looks a lot like an ex) promises Do Han that he’ll hurt him (how nice) and that they’ll see each other again. Ji Han, drunk as ever, knocks himself out trying to carry A Jeong and wakes up at her place. He’s immediately awful with A Jeong’s family, whom he accuses of kidnapping him, and A Jeong shows him videos of himself the night before to prove that he’d crashed at their place and was unbearable (I love that she knows in advance that he’s going to make a scene and films it to avoid any debate). They almost kiss (by accident) and Do Han, worried, barges in and eventually discovers that Ji Han is there too. Eavesdropping, Ji Han learns that his brother is planning to go to the States with A Jeong, and he freaks out. Do Han asks him to stop pestering him and threatens not to be his brother anymore if he doesn’t leave him alone (and incidentally, he doesn’t understand why Ji Han opposes the marriage when his grandfather has agreed). The heiress asks the grandfather to give her Ji Han (lol) and then she meets Ji Han and asks him who A Jeong is because she’s a bit jealous (honest). A Jeong turns up at the same time and overhears Ji Han criticizing her, so she confronts him and disappears. At the 2 brothers’ mother’s memorial, we find out what happened: a reporter trying to find out what happened to her after she disappeared off the face of the earth posed as her friend to Ji Han who took him home. Later that evening, the reporter chased their car in the rain, resulting in an accident and her death (with Ji Han in the car). Ji Han blames himself for having told the reporter where they lived, feels guilty about his mom’s death and developped a rain phobia. After visiting their mother’s memorial, the 2 brothers, the heiress, the grandfather and A Jeong bump into the said reporter and the grandfather goes berserk. Do Han takes him and the heiress away, and A Jeong leaves with Ji Han. They are followed by the reporter and A Jeong loses him, then they meet in a café where she consoles him (very cute) and they go back to see his mother’s urn and A Jeong apologizes for marrying her son for fake. Waiting for her in the rain, Ji Han realizes that when he looks at her he’s no longer anxious, and on the way out she stumbles into his arms and he throws down his umbrella to catch her. 

Episode 6

Effrayé par ses sentiments, Ji Han abandonne A Jeong et va se faire exorciser (pas du tout extrême). La demie soeur comprend que l’héritière en pince pour Ji Han et lui envoie des photos de lui et A Jeong ensemble à l’hôtel. Le grand père demande à Do Han d’accélérer le mariage pour que le reporter ne les mette pas en danger et il donne rendez-vous à A Jeong dans son atelier (elle y rencontre donc par hasard l’ex borderline qui n’a pas vraiment l’air de lui vouloir du bien).  Ji Han fait son maximum pour oublier A Jeong en se plongeant dans tout un tas d’activités et en l’ignorant (et elle n’aime pas ça du tout). L’héritière avoue à Ji Han qu’elle a des sentiments pour lui et il ne répond rien. Il finit par accepter l’idée du mariage et participe à la rencontre des 2 familles ou il défend A Jeong qui ne sait plus qu’en penser. 

Episode 6

Frightened by his feelings, Ji Han abandons A Jeong and goes for an exorcism (not extreme at all). The half-sister realizes that the heiress has a crush on Ji Han and sends her photos of him and A Jeong together at the hotel. The grandfather asks Do Han to speed up the wedding so that the reporter won’t put them in danger, and Do Han arranges for A Jeong to meet him in his studio (where she happens to meet the borderline ex, who doesn’t really seem to want anything nice to do with her).  Ji Han does his utmost to forget A Jeong, immersing himself in a whole range of activities and ignoring her (and she doesn’t like it one bit). The heiress confesses to Ji Han that she has feelings for him and he says nothing. He finally accepts the idea of marriage between A Jeong and Do Han and takes part in the meeting of the 2 families where he defends A Jeong, who doesn’t know what to think. 

Episode 7

Ji Han dit à A Jeong qu’il accepte finalement sa relation avec Do Han et retourne à sa vie habituelle. A Jeong se sent mal à l’aise et n’est pas très heureuse qu’il ait décidé d’arrêter d’essayer de les séparer. Ji Han rencontre l’héritière et lui dit qu’il va reprendre sa vie en main (et elle comprend qu’il a besoin de temps mais qu’il accepte de se mettre avec elle). Grâce aux demi-frères et sœurs, les journalistes harcèlent A Jeong et sa famille, la forçant à emménager avec Do Han (et Ji Han !). Ji Han l’apprend en sortant de la salle de bain à moitié nu et en rencontrant A Jeong. Il s’assure qu’elle n’aura pas à partager son lit avec Do Han (petit malin). La sœur de A Jeong trouve le contrat de mariage et devient folle de rage. A Jeong confronte Ji Han pour comprendre ce qu’il ressent et il lui dit de ne pas dépasser les limites et de se comporter comme la belle-sœur qu’elle est. Do Han découvre que son ex a rencontré  » accidentellement  » A Jeong et perd la tête. Il va le voir et le menace de ne pas se frotter à A Jeong (tout en étant suivi par le journaliste meurtrier). A Jeong avoue à Ji Han qu’elle l’aime bien et Ji Han lui répond d’épouser Do Han. Alors qu’elle essaie des robes de mariée, Ji Han fait irruption et l’emmène (je ne sais pas si elle rêve ou pas).  

Episode 7

Ji Han tells A Jeong that he finally acknowledges her relationship with Do Han and goes back to his life. A Jeong feels uneasy and not so happy that he decided to stop trying to separate them. Ji Han meets with the heiress and tells her he will get his life back on track (and she understands that he need some time and will go to her). Thanks to the half siblings, reporters are harassing A Jeong and her family, forcing her to move in with Do Han (and Ji Han !). Ji Han finds out while getting our of the bathroom half naked and meeting with A Jeong. He then makes sure she will not have to share a bed with Do Han (smart kid). A Jeong’s sister finds the marriage contract and loses it. A Jeong confronts Ji Han to understand how he feels and he tells her not to cross the line and to behave like the sister in law she is. Do Han discovers his ex has « accidentally » met A Jeong and loses it, go to him and threaten him not to mess with A Jeong (while being followed by the murderer reporter). A Jeong confesses to Ji Han that she kind of likes him and Ji Han tells her to marry Do Han as an answer. While she tries on wedding dresses, Ji Han barges in and take her away (not sure if she is dreaming or not).  

Episode 8

Ji Han rencontre l’ex borderline qui lui avoue l’homosexualité de Do Han (adorable). Ji Han le menace s’il raconte ça a d’autres personnes, file chercher A Jeong a son essayage de robes et lui demande d’annuler le mariage car il ne veut plus être de sa belle famille. A Jeong annonce à Ji Han être folle de Do Han alors que Ji Han fais tout pour être au plus proche d’elle. Le grand père accélère la transition pour donner le pouvoir à Do Han contre l’avis des demis frères/soeurs et les pousse à faire des recherche sur la mort de leur mère. A Jeong et Ji Han croisent l’héritière qui marque son territoire et annonce à A Jeong qu’il seront bientôt de la même famille puisqu’elle épousera Ji Han (elle lui aurait fait pipi dessus que ça n’aurait pas été plus clair). En privé, l’héritière fait une scène de jalousie à Ji Han et comprend qu’il a des sentiments pour A Jeong. Ji Han et Do Han se dispute une nouvelle fois, Do Han pense que c’est à cause du mariage alors que Ji Han voudrait qu’il soit honnête envers lui même et qu’il arrête de se cacher (en prenant A Jeong en otage). Ji Han se réfugie auprès d’A Jeong, lui avoue qu’il a des sentiments pour elle et que c’est pour ça qu’il tente d’empêcher le mariage et elle s’enfuit. Elle revient le voir très énervée (quelle tension !), le secoue et finit par l’embrasser (un peu too much mais ça fait le taff). 

Episode 8

Ji Han meets the borderline ex who confesses Do Han’s homosexuality (adorable). Ji Han threatens him if he tells anyone else, goes to pick up A Jeong from her dress fitting and asks her to cancel the wedding because he no longer wants to be part of her in-laws. A Jeong tells Ji Han she’s crazy about Do Han, while Ji Han tries to be as close to her as possible. The grandfather speeds up the transition to give power to Do Han against the advice of the half-siblings and pushes them to investigate their mother’s death. A Jeong and Ji Han cross paths with the heiress, who marks her territory and tells A Jeong that they’ll soon be family, as she’ll marry Ji Han (if she’d peed on him, it wouldn’t have been any clearer). In private, the heiress makes a jealous scene with Ji Han and realizes that he has feelings for A Jeong. Ji Han and Do Han quarrel again, Do Han thinking it’s because of the marriage, while Ji Han wants him to be honest with himself and stop hiding (and taking A Jeong hostage). Ji Han takes refuge with A Jeong, confesses that he has feelings for her and that’s why he’s trying to stop the wedding, and she runs away. She comes back to him very upset (so much tension!), shakes him and ends up kissing him (a little too much, but it does the trick). 

Episode 9

A Jeong et Ji Han s’enfuient et planifient de passer 24h dans un village perdu ou personne ne les connaît. Do Han confronte son ex borderline qui avoue avoir tout dit à Ji Han et le met en garde contre le reporter qui cherche à en savoir plus sur lui. Ce même reporter donne à la demie soeur des photos de Ji Han et A Jeong en train de s’embrasser qu’elle s’empresse d’aller monter à Do Han (qui tombe de sa chaise). Ji Han avoue à l’héritière que A Jeong et lui sont ensemble et elle lui annonce qu’elle n’abandonnera pas si facilement et que pour leur bien à tous les deux, A Jeong et Ji Han feraient bien de ne plus se voir. Le grand père annonce publiquement que Ji Han est son petit fils et nomme Do Han a un poste de direction. Au courant que la demie soeur a des photos compromettantes et prévoit de les utiliser, l’héritière fais tout pour sauver Ji Han. Par hasard, Ji Han débarque au studio de Do Han et comprend que leur mariage est faux. 

Episode 9

A Jeong and Ji Han run away and plan to spend 24 hours in a remote village where no one knows them. Do Han confronts his borderline ex, who confesses to having told Ji Han everything, and warns him about the reporter who is trying to find out more about him. The same reporter gives the half-sister photos of Ji Han and A Jeong kissing, which she hastens to show to Do Han (who falls out of his chair). Ji Han confesses to the heiress that he and A Jeong are together, and she announces that she won’t give up so easily and that for both their sakes, A Jeong and Ji Han had better not see each other anymore. The grandfather publicly announces that Ji Han is his grandson and appoints Do Han to a management position. Aware that the half-sister has compromising photos and plans to use them, the heiress does everything in her power to save Ji Han. By chance, Ji Han arrives at Do Han’s studio and realizes that their marriage is a fake. 

Episode 10

Do Han décide de faire comme si de rien n’était et propose à A Jeong de s’enfuir à New York, A Jeong refuse et decide d’arrêter le mariage et Ji Han décide de ne plus voir A Jeong car il ne peut plus lui faire confiance. A Jeong convoque l’héritière pour lui expliquer sa relation avec Ji Han et lui dire qu’elle n’a pas l’intention de l’abandonner et elles se saoulent ensemble. Ji Han demande à Do Han d’annuler le mariage et d’arrêter d’utiliser A Jeong puis A Jeong et lui se réconcilient. Ji Han demande à sa demie soeur d’enterrer l’affaire et Do Han et lui se retireront en échange mais elle hésite (elle est insupportable, je commence à douter qu’elle soit vraiment sa demie soeur et si c’est le cas j’ai hâte de la voir chuter de son piédestal). Au même moment, le grand père apprend qu’elle travaille avec le reporter et lui annonce qu’il ne lui lèguera jamais l’entreprise ce qui la pousse à informer la presse de la relation entre Ji Han et A Jeong. Ji Han se fait reprimander par son grand père, A Jeong par sa famille et Do Han par l’héritière car il ne protège pas son frère et A Jeong. La demie soeur décide de se débrouiller pour voler la société à son grand père plutôt que d’attendre qu’il la lui lègue et, au passage, elle va fouiller son bureau à la recherche de vidéos de l’accident de sa mère. Do Han pense convoquer une conférence de presse pour tout avouer, y compris son homosexualité (je trouve ça franchement violent pour lui) mais se retrouve nez à nez avec son grand père qui le rabroue (et on comprend qu’il a toujours tout su et qu’il essayait de lui donner des chances de vivre une vie « normale »). De son côté, Ji Han organise vraiment une conférence de presse et avoue publiquement ses sentiments pour A Jeong tout en disant que tout est de sa faute et qu’elle est innocente. 

Episode 10

Do Han decides to pretend nothing has happened and suggests that A Jeong and himrun away to New York, A Jeong refuses and decides to stop the wedding, Ji Han decides not to see A Jeong any more because he can no longer trust her. A Jeong summons the heiress to explain her relationship with Ji Han and tell her that she has no intention of abandoning him, and they get drunk together. Ji Han asks Do Han to call off the wedding and stop using A Jeong, then he and A Jeong reconcile. Ji Han asks his half-sister to bury the story and he and Do Han will retire in exchange but she hesitates (she’s unbearable, I’m beginning to doubt whether she really is his half-sister and if she isn’t I can’t wait to see her fall off her pedestal). At the same time, the grandfather learns that she’s working with the reporter and tells her that he’ll never bequeath the company to her, prompting her to inform the press of Ji Han and A Jeong’s relationship. Ji Han is reprimanded by his grandfather, A Jeong by her family and Do Han by the heiress for not protecting his brother and A Jeong. The half-sister decides to steal the company from her grandfather rather than wait for him to leave it to her and, in the process, searches his office for videos of her mother’s accident. Do Han thinks of calling a press conference to confess everything, including his homosexuality (I find this downright violent for him), but finds himself face to face with his grandfather, who rebuffs him (and we understand that he always knew everything and was trying to give him a chance to live a « normal » life). For his part, Ji Han really does hold a press conference and publicly confesses his feelings for A Jeong, saying that it’s all his fault and that she’s innocent. 

Episode 11

Après la conférence, Ji Han disparaît et laisse A Jeong et Do Han perdus (l’une parce qu’elle est folle de lui et l’autre parce qu’il pense que rien ne serait arrivé s’il avait assumé qui il est vraiment dès le départ). A Jeong avoue à ses parents que le mariage était faux et qu’elle aime désespérément Ji Han. Le grand père demande à A Jeong de s’en tenir au plan initial et d’épouser Do Han pour qu’au moins un des deux frères ne perde pas tout (et elle refuse). Do Han finit par publiquement avouer que le mariage était faux et avait pour but de cacher son homosexualité avant de filer (pour New York ?) en rappelant à A Jeong que leur amitié passe avant tout (alors qu’il part au moment ou elle est au cœur d’un scandale…étrange). La demie sœur apprend enfin la vérité : c’est son père qui a tué sa mère et qui a fait porter le chapeau au reporter (avec le soutien du grand père…étrange). A Jeong retrouve l’heritiere pour lui annoncer qu’elle cherche Ji Han pour le quitter officiellement et finit par comprendre où il est : la où ils s’étaient enfuis. Elle le retrouve et ils se séparent pour de bon (pour le moment). 

1 an plus tard, Ji Han et le grand père fêtent ensemble l’anniversaire de la mort de leur mère et le grand père vide son sac : il a toujours aimé Ji Han mais le voir lui rappelle sa fille et son incapacité à la sauver (oui parce qu’après que le père des beaux frères et soeurs ait provoqué son accident, le grand père est allé sur les lieu et a hésiter à sauver Ji Han, ce qui lui a fait perdre du temps et ne lui a pas permis de sauver sa fille). Tout est bien qui finit bien et ils se réconcilient. 

Episode 11

After the conference, Ji Han disappears, leaving A Jeong and Do Han lost (one because she’s crazy about him, the other because he thinks nothing would have happened if he’d assumed who he really is from the start). A Jeong confesses to her parents that the marriage was fake and that she desperately loves Ji Han. The grandfather asks A Jeong to stick to the original plan and marry Do Han so that at least one of the brothers doesn’t lose everything (and she refuses). Do Han ends up publicly admitting that the wedding was fake and intended to hide his homosexuality, before leaving (for New York?), reminding A Jeong that their friendship comes first (even though he’s leaving just as she’s at the heart of a scandal…weird). The half-sister finally learns the truth: it was her father who killed her mother and framed the reporter (with the support of the grandfather…strange). A Jeong meets up with the heiress again to tell her that she’s looking for Ji Han to officially leave him, and finally figures out where he is: at the village they’d run off to. She finds him and they part for good (for now). 

1 year later, Ji Han and the grandfather celebrate the anniversary of the mother’s death together, and the grandfather comes clean: he’s always loved Ji Han, but seeing him reminds him of his daughter and his inability to save her (yes, because after the step-siblings’ father caused her accident, the grandfather went to the scene and hesitated to save Ji Han, which wasted his time and didn’t allow him to save his daughter). All’s well that ends well, and they reconcile. 

Episode 12

1 an après la rupture, le meurtrier de la mère de Ji Han est en prison, le grand père a quitté l’entreprise et les beaux frères et soeurs font de l’associatif pour payer les erreurs de leur père. A Jeong enchaine les rôles et Ji Han vit sa meilleure vie d’héritier qui n’a pas de problèmes d’argent tout en ayant monté son entreprise. Au mémorial de sa mère, Ji Han retrouve A Jeong, ils discutent et se quitte en bin terme (chacun fait semblant d’aller mieux que jamais). Do Han revient pour exposer ses oeuvres et A Jeong va le chercher à l’aéroport (il se rend compte qu’elle est dans le déni vis à vis de Ji Han), en rentrant chez lui il trouve Ji Han avachi dans le canapé (et comprend que Ji Han aussi est dans le déni). Ji Han finit par comprendre qu’il a toujours des sentiments pour A Jeong et tente d’avouer mais les amies d’A Jeong lui disent qu’elle est en couple avec un autre acteur. Ji Han noie son chagrin dans l’alcool en buvant avec l’héritière qui finit par appeler A Jeong parce qu’elle n’en peut plus. Ji Han avoue ses sentiments, lui court après intensément finit par la demander en mariage (et elle accepte). 

Episode 12

1 year after the breakup, Ji Han’s mother’s murderer is in prison, the grandfather has left the company and the brothers and sisters-in-law are doing charity work to pay for their father’s mistakes. A Jeong plays one role after another, and Ji Han lives his best life as an heir with no money problems, while having set up his own business. At his mother’s memorial, Ji Han meets up with A Jeong, they chat and part on friendly terms (each pretending to be better than ever). Do Han returns to exhibit his work and A Jeong goes to pick him up at the airport (he realizes that she is in denial about Ji Han), returning home to find Ji Han slumped on the sofa (and realizes that Ji Han too is in denial). Ji Han finally realizes that he still has feelings for A Jeong and tries to confess, but A Jeong’s friends tell him that she’s in a relationship with another actor. Ji Han drowns his sorrows in alcohol by drinking with the heiress, who ends up calling A Jeong because she can’t take it anymore. Ji Han confesses his feelings, pursues her intensely and finally proposes (and she accepts). 

Mon avis

Je n’ai pas détesté mais je n’ai pas vraiment aimé non plus.

Pour les points positifs :

• Les personnages principaux jouent assez bien, ils ont tous les deux une vraie resting bitch face qui nous donne quelques moments très drôles (par contre je trouve que l’actrice principale a les dents bleues et j’avoue que ça m’a questionnée pendant tout le drama). Je ne leur ai pas trouvé une alchimie incroybale et ce drama ne nous montre pas énormément de baisers, je suis donc un peu restée sur ma faim côté romance.
• Les personnages secondaires ne sont pas mauvais non plus, ils n’apportent pas énormément de choses à l’histoires mais permettent d’alléger certains moments donc pourquoi pas
• L’intrigue n’est pas trop mal, l’idée originale et on a des rebondissements tout le long
• Les décors sont assez classiques (vues de Séoul, village de pêcheurs etc.) mais bien filmés ce qui nous transporte assez bien (et m’a rappelé un autre drama pour ceux qui ont vu Hometown Cha Cha Cha)
• Ce drama ne dure « que » 12 épisodes et c’est parfaitement dosé

Pour les points négatifs

• L’histoire de base de ce drama repose sur le fait que Do Han n’ose pas avouer son homosexualité et qu’il se force à se marier pour avoir la paix. Au final on comprend que l’histoire ne peut se résoudre que si Do Han avoue être gay, de gré ou de force. Je trouve cette morale franchement nulle (chacun fait bien ce qu’il veut) et je regrette que le drama ne présente pas cela comme quelque chose de dramatique : on ne force pas quelqu’un à faire son coming out pour rendre d’autres personnes heureuses.
• Certains aspects de l’histoire ne sont pas assez expliqués. L’histoire tourne aussi autour de l’amitié entre Do Han et A Jeong qui sont supposément si proches qu’ils sont prêts à se marier ensemble pour se protéger. Hors, on ne voit quasiment pas de scènes de complicité entre eux et peu de souvenirs de leur amitié, ce qui rend l’histoire peu crédible. On nous présente aussi l’ex borderline prêt à tout pour se venger mais on ne sait pas de quoi.
• Mon dernier point négatif est un peu plus léger mais tout aussi dérangeant : il y a TROP d’épaulettes ! A chaque épisode on a droit à un (ou plusieurs) personnages portant des épaulettes et franchement c’est trop.

My opinion

I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t really like it either.

On the plus side:

• The main characters play quite well, they both have real resting bitch faces which gives us some very funny moments (on the other hand I find that the main actress has blue teeth and I admit that this questioned me throughout the drama). I didn’t find them to have incredible chemistry, and there was not a lot of kissing, so I was a bit disappointed when it came to romance.
• The secondary characters aren’t bad either; they don’t add much to the story, but they do lighten things up a bit, so why not?
• The plot isn’t too bad, the idea is original and there are twists and turns throughout.
• The settings are fairly classic (views of Seoul, fishing village, etc.) but well shot, which transports us quite well (and reminded me of another drama, for those who have seen Hometown Cha Cha Cha).
• This drama lasts “only” 12 episodes, and it’s perfectly balanced.

On the negative points

• The story of this drama is based on the fact that Do Han doesn’t dare confess his homosexuality and forces himself to marry in order to have peace. In the end, we understand that the story can only be resolved if Do Han admits he’s gay, willingly or not. I find this morality really lame (everyone does what they want) and I regret that the drama doesn’t present this as something problematic: you don’t force someone to come out to make other people happy.
• Some aspects of the story aren’t explained enough. The story also revolves around the friendship between Do Han and A Jeong, who are supposedly so close that they are willing to marry each other to protect themselves. However, there are hardly any scenes of complicity between them and few memories of their friendship, which makes the story not very credible. We’re also introduced to the borderline ex who’ll do anything to get revenge, but we don’t know for what.
• My last negative point is a little lighter but just as disturbing: there are TOO many shoulder pads! Every episode features one (or more) characters wearing shoulder pads, and frankly, it’s too much.

Je vous laisse décider, je ne mettrais pas ce drama dans mon top 20 (peut être même pas dans mon top 50) mais il se laisse regarder.

I’ll let you decide, I wouldn’t put this drama in my top 20 (maybe not even in my top 50) but it’s watchable.
