Episode 1

Lu Yan est anesthésiste, en tentant de convaincre une épouse de faire opérer son mari, elle se heurte au refus de son fils, Chengyi qui n’est autre que son ex petit ami de retour dans leur ville (et pas vraiment ravi de la voir). Chengyi est policier et découvre un patient équipé d’une bombe dans l’hôpital, avec Lu Yan, ils se retrouvent à l’opérer avant de lui retirer sa bombe pour sauver tout le monde. Leur coopération est un succès et le drame est évité.

Episode 1

Lu Yan is an anesthesiologist, and when she tries to convince a wife to have her husband operated on, she meets with the refusal of her son, Chengyi, who is none other than her ex-boyfriend back in their town (and not exactly thrilled to see her). Chengyi is a policeman who discovers a patient with a bomb in the hospital, and together with Lu Yan, they find themselves operating on him before removing the bomb to save everyone. Their cooperation is a success and tragedy is averted.

Lu Yan et Chengyi assistent ensemble au mariage de leurs meilleurs amis et on comprend que Lu Yan a quitté Chengyi sans explications mais qu’ils étaient très amoureux (et le son toujours). Wen, un ami d’université est aussi au mariage et à l’air de vouloir conquérir Lu Yan et Chengyi est plutôt jaloux.

Lu Yan and Chengyi attend their best friends’ wedding together, and we understand that Lu Yan left Chengyi without explanation, but that they were very much in love (and still are). Wen, a university friend is also at the wedding and seems keen to win Lu Yan over, while Chengyi is rather jealous.

On comprend que Lu Yan a quitté Chengyi après que sa meilleure amie, Deng Man, se soit suicidée par désespoir parce qu’elle était amoureuse de Chengyi qui était en couple avec Lu Yan. Une personne mal intentionnée s’arrange pour projeter une photo de ladite meilleure amie lors du mariage, plongeant Lu Yan dans une spirale de culpabilité et d’angoisse (elle hallucine même que sa meilleure amie est en vie et lui en veut à mort). Chengyi est très inquiet mais elle le rejette.

Episode 3

We understand that Lu Yan left Chengyi after her best friend, Deng Man, committed suicide out of despair because she was in love with Chengyi, who was in a relationship with Lu Yan. An ill-intentioned person arranges to project a photo of the said best friend at the wedding, plunging Lu Yan into a spiral of guilt and anguish (she even hallucinates that her best friend is alive and blames her to death). Chengyi is very worried, but she rejects him.

Chengyi et sa mère acceptent de faire opérer son père et Lu Yan prepare tout. Chengyi, inquiet pour Lu Yan fait des petits pas vers elle et ils se rappellent des souvenirs de quand ils étaient en couple. Lu Yan commence à se faire harceler par un inconnu qui sonne chez elle la nuit et qui détruit son vélo ce qui inquiète encore plus Chengyi. Lu Yan finit pas opérer le père de Chengyi avec succès.

Episode 4

Chengyi and hismother agree to have his father operated on and Lu Yan prepares everything. Chengyi, worried about Lu Yan, takes small steps towards her and they recall memories of when they were a couple. Lu Yan begins to be harassed by a stranger who rings her doorbell at night and destroys her bicycle, which worries Chengyi even more. Lu Yan ends up successfully operating on Chengyi’s father.

Episode 5

On en apprend un peu plus sur la relation passée de Lu Yan et Chengyi, tombés amoureux quasiment au 1er regard à la fac. Chengyi fait installer une caméra devant chez Lu Yan pour la protéger et Lu Yan protège son amie infirmière qui se fait harceler par son petit ami violent. Ce même petit ami, fou de jalousie, tente de tuer Lu Yan qui se fait sauver par Wen (le rival de Chengyi à la fac, clairement très amoureux de Lu Yan).

Episode 5

We learn a little more about the past relationship of Lu Yan and Chengyi, who fell in love almost at first sight in college. Chengyi has a camera installed outside Lu Yan’s house to protect her, and Lu Yan protects her nurse friend who is being harassed by her violent boyfriend. This same boyfriend, mad with jealousy, tries to kill Lu Yan, who is saved by Wen (Chengyi’s college rival, clearly very much in love with Lu Yan).

Episode 6

Chengyi se fait draguer par une ancienne camarade de classe et Lu Yan est jalouse. Tous les deux vont faire un tour de leur université et se rappellent les bons moments (la confession de Lu Yan qui était très entreprenante etc.) et Chengyi lui annonce qu’il doit repartir pour son travail. Il lui laisse une chance de lui dire adieu à l’aéroport, elle se pointe au dernier moment et, en le croyant parti, verse presque une petite larme. Elle découvre ensuite qu’il est finalement muté dans leur ville et ne partira plus et, oui, elle a l’air heureuse !

Episode 6

Chengyi is hit on by an old classmate and Lu Yan is jealous. The two of them take a tour of their university and reminisce about the good times (Lu Yan’s confession that she was very enterprising etc.) and Chengyi tells her that he has to leave again for work. He gives her a chance to say goodbye at the airport, she shows up at the last minute and, thinking he’s gone, almost sheds a tear. She then discovers that he’s finally been transferred to their town and won’t be leaving again, and yes, she does look happy!

Episode 7

Le stalker de Lu Yan continue à l’espionner et la suivre et Chengyi prend son poste avec succès en retrouvant et arrêtant le fabriquant de la bombe posée à l’hôpital. Le coupable se blesse et finit à l’hôpital, laissant à Lu Yan et Chengyi une chance de passer plus de temps ensemble. Wang Qianqian, l’amie de Lu Yan (celle au conjoint violent), organise une crémaillère pour fêter son déménagement et invite Chengyi à y participer (avec entres autres Lu Yan, et son rival, Wen). Lors de la soirée, on en apprend un peu plus sur leur passé et leur rencontre.

Episode 7

Lu Yan’s stalker continues to spy on and follow her, while Chengyi successfully takes his position by tracking down and arresting the person who planted the bomb at the hospital. The culprit gets injured and ends up in the hospital, giving Lu Yan and Chengyi a chance to spend more time together. Wang Qianqian (the one with the abusive partner) organizes a housewarming party to celebrate her move and invites Chengyi to join (along with Lu Yan and her rival, Wen). During the evening, more about their past and how they met is revealed.

Episode 8

Lu Yan avoue à Chengyi qu’elle est suivie et qu’elle pense avoir revu Deng Man, son amie qui s’est suicidée il y a des années. Les 2 meilleurs amis de Chengyi et Lu Yan se mettent en tête de les remettre ensemble et ça marche assez bien car ils finissent par se planifier un rendez-vous. Le jour de leur rendez-vous, ils sont tous les deux appelés au travail pour des urgences et finissent par réussir à se voir le soir. Chengyi enquête sur le stalker de Lu Yan et découvre des vidéos de Deng Man dans la ville. Il prévient Lu Yan que quelque chose ne tourne pas rond juste avant qu’elle se fasse attaquer par son stalker.

Episode 8

Lu Yan confesses to Chengyi that she is being followed and that she believes she has seen Deng Man, her friend who committed suicide years ago. Chengyi and Lu Yan’s two best friends decide to play matchmaker and succeed quite well, as the two end up planning a date. On the day of their date, both are called into work for emergencies but manage to meet up in the evening. Chengyi begins investigating Lu Yan’s stalker and discovers videos of Deng Man in the city. He warns Lu Yan that something is wrong, just before she is attacked by her stalker.

Episode 9

Lu Yan se fait pourchasser puis agresser et droguer à l’éther par un homme masqué qui tente de la déshabiller et de la prendre en photo. Chengyi les retrouve et la sauve mais l’homme s’enfuie. Chengyi retrouve sa trace et découvre qu’il s’agit d’un homme qui vend des photos volées de femmes sur internet et on comprend qu’il a été payé par Ding Jing, la rivale de Lu Yan, folle amoureuse de Chengyi, qui espère ruiner sa réputation. Chengyi monte en permanence la garde auprès de Lu Yan, ce qui les rapproche encore. Une très belle femme finit par coincer l’agresseur en faisant l’appât pour l’attirer.

Episode 9

Lu Yan is chased, assaulted, and drugged with ether by a masked man who attempts to undress her and take photos. Chengyi finds them and rescues her, but the man manages to escape. Chengyi tracks him down and discovers he is a man who sells stolen photos of women online. It is revealed that he was hired by Ding Jing, Lu Yan’s rival, who is madly in love with Chengyi and hopes to ruin Lu Yan’s reputation. Chengyi stays constantly by Lu Yan’s side, which brings them even closer. Eventually, a stunningly beautiful woman sets a trap for the attacker, acting as bait to lure him in and catch him.

Episode 10

Avec l’aide d’une profileuse, Chengyi piège et arrête l’agresseur de Lu Yan qui n’avoue pas qu’on lui a demandé d’agresser Lu Yan. Lu Yan et Chengyi décident d’aller au cinéma et finissent par s’embrasser. Au cinéma, Wen, qui produit le film, avoue qu’il a bien l’intention de se mettre avec son amour de jeunesse (=Lu Yan) et il a franchement l’air un peu fou. Quelqu’un kidnappe l’infirmière amie de Lu Yan et la jette à l’eau en espérant appâter Lu Yan.

Episode 10

With the help of a profiler, Chengyi traps and arrests Lu Yan’s attacker, who refuses to confess that he was hired to assault her. Lu Yan and Chengyi decide to go to the movies and end up sharing a kiss. At the cinema, Wen, who is the producer of the film, openly admits that he plans to win back his childhood love—Lu Yan—and comes across as slightly unhinged. Meanwhile, someone kidnaps Lu Yan’s nurse friend and throws her into the water, hoping to lure Lu Yan into a trap.

Episode 11

Le corps de l’infirmière est retrouvé et Chengyi est envoyé sur la scène de crime (j’avoue là ça devient un peu trop dark pour moi, surtout si c’est Wen qui l’a tuée pour se venger).Lu Yan est persuadée qu’elle est morte parce qu’elle n’a pas répondu à ses appels à cause de son rendez-vous avec Chengyi (je commende à me dire que la même mascarade a dû se produire avec sa meilleure amie qui s’est « suicidée »). L’enquête commence et se met bizarrement à tourner autour de Wen (qui a franchement l’air super suspect). Finalement, Lu Yan finit par demander à Chengyi de vivre sa vie loin d’elle car le voir lui rappelle qu’elle a encore une fois laissé mourir sa meilleure amie.

Episode 11

The nurse’s body is found, and Chengyi is sent to the crime scene (this is getting a bit too dark, especially if Wen killed her out of revenge). Lu Yan becomes convinced that her friend died because she didn’t answer her calls due to her date with Chengyi. She starts to wonder if the same twisted scenario happened with her best friend, who supposedly « committed suicide. » The investigation begins and strangely starts to focus on Wen, who seems increasingly suspicious. In the end, Lu Yan asks Chengyi to live his life without her, as being with him only reminds her of how she has once again failed to save her best friend.

Episode 12

Lu Yan s’ enfonce un peu dans une dépression et finit par relever la tête grâce à ses amis. Chengyi comprend que le meurtre de l’infirmière a pour objectif de blesser Lu Yan en lui rappelant ce qui s’est passé 8 ans auparavant (pour rappel, sa meilleure amie s’était suicidée parce qu’elle aimait Chengyi et que Lu Yan ne voulait pas le lui laisser…étrange). Il finit par s’installer en secret auprès d’elle tout en continuant son enquête.

Episode 12

Lu Yan sinks into a depression but eventually starts to recover with the help of her friends. Chengyi realizes that the nurse’s murder was meant to hurt Lu Yan by dredging up the painful events of eight years ago (when her best friend committed suicide because she loved Chengyi, and Lu Yan wouldn’t let her have him… a strange situation). Determined to protect her, Chengyi secretly moves in nearby while continuing his investigation.

Episode 13

L’enquête se recentre sur Deng Man (l’ancienne meilleure amie) et Chengyi et Lu Yan cherchent chacun de leur côté des indices sur la vie cachée de Deng Man qui semblait avoir un petit ami secret (je met un billet sur un prof de sport). Wen se retrouve bizarrement toujours autour de Lu Yan et lui sort le grand jeu en lui disant que la mort de l’infirmière peut les rapprocher (oui car ils ont tous les deux la même peine) et changer leur vie (le type est complètement fou).

Episode 13

The investigation shifts its focus to Deng Man (the dead best friend), and both Chengyi and Lu Yan start searching separately for clues about Deng Man’s secret life, which hints at a mysterious boyfriend (I’m betting on a gym teacher). Wen keeps suspiciously appearing around Lu Yan and pulls out all the stops, telling her that the nurse’s death could bring them closer together (because they share the same grief) and change their lives. The guy is completely unhinged.

Episode 14

En enquêtant, Lu Yan comprend que Ding Jing est mêlée à la mort de Deng Man et décide d’aller s’en assurer en suivant Ding Jing. Elle se met à menacer Ding Jing avec des lettres anonymes pour la forcer à avouer ce qu’elle a fait à la police. Wen se débrouille pour financer un film sur une anesthésiste et insiste pour embaucher Lu Yan comme consultante dans l’espoir de la reconquérir. Chengyi essaie de se rapprocher de Lu Yan mais elle le tient à distance et il n’aime pas ça du tout.

Episode 14

While investigating, Lu Yan discovers that Ding Jing is connected to Deng Man’s death. Determined to confirm her suspicions, she begins following Ding Jing. To force her to confess to the police, Lu Yan starts sending her anonymous threatening letters. Meanwhile, Wen finds a way to fund a film about an anesthesiologist and insists on hiring Lu Yan as a consultant, hoping to win her over. Chengyi tries to get closer to Lu Yan, but she keeps him at arm’s length, which frustrates him deeply.

Episode 15

Chengyi découvre que Ding Jing est à l’origine de l’agression de Lu Yan et il n’est vraiment pas content. Les amis de Lu Yan et Chengyi font tout pour qu’ils ne tournent pas la page. Chengyi rejette Ding Jing et elle finit par lui annoncer que ce serait mieux que Lu Yan soit morte avant de faire la même déclaration à Lu Yan qui la confronte à son tour.

Episode 15

Chengyi discovers that Ding Jing was behind the attack on Lu Yan, and he is absolutely furious. Meanwhile, Lu Yan and Chengyi’s friends do everything they can to keep the two from moving on from each other. Chengyi firmly rejects Ding Jing, and in a fit of jealousy and desperation, she declares that it would be better if Lu Yan were dead. She later repeats the same chilling statement to Lu Yan when confronted by her.

Episode 16

Lu Yan réussit à convaincre l’assistante de Ding Jing de l’aider à exposer ses méfaits. Elle profite ensuite d’un évènement organisé par Ding Jing, pour diffuser auprès de tous les participants (y compris, journalistes) des vidéos et audios de ses agissements. Dong Jing est chassée par son richissime père et se jure de tuer Lu Yan pour se venger. Et elle n’attend pas beaucoup pour passer à l’action, elle la suit dès le lendemain et la pousse sur les rails du métro sous les yeux de Chengyi qui la sauve in extremis (et aussi sous les yeux de la personne qui se fait passer pour Deng Man).

Episode 16

Lu Yan manages to convince Ding Jing’s assistant to help expose her wrongdoings. She takes advantage of an event organized by Ding Jing to broadcast videos and audio recordings of her crimes to all the attendees, including journalists. Ding Jing is disowned by her wealthy father and vows to kill Lu Yan in revenge. She doesn’t wait long to act—following Lu Yan the very next day and pushing her onto the subway tracks right in front of Chengyi, who saves her at the last second. The dramatic scene unfolds under the watchful eyes of the mysterious person pretending to be Deng Man.

Episode 17

Chengyi s’installe chez Lu Yan pour la protéger car Ding Jing est en cavale et pourrait bien retenter de la tuer. Lu Yan (qui sait qu’il a aussi emménagé à côté) le laisse faire et ils se rapprochent. À l’hôpital, un père frappe son fils sous les yeux de Wen qui devient fou et l’attaque pour défendre l’enfant (il a été lui aussi victime de violences de la part de son père).

Episode 17

Chengyi moves in with Lu Yan to protect her because Ding Jing is on the run and may try to kill her again. Lu Yan (who knows he’s also moved in next door) lets him, and they grow closer. At the hospital, a father beats his son in front of Wen, who goes mad and attacks him in defense of the child (he too has been abused by his father).

Episode 18

Après sa crise, Wen s’attache au petit garçon « sauvé » et lui promet tout un tas de sorties. Il en profite aussi pour essayer de se rapprocher de Lu Yan. Ding Jing se fait capturer et torturer par la fausse Deng Man qui veut mettre la main sur une vidéo où on voit un mystérieux inconnu (Wen ?!) pousser la vraie Deng Man à la mort. Lu Yan visite l’appartement de Chengyi et l’aide à mieux s’installer puis elle l’invite à petit déjeuner le matin. La police retrouve la fausse Deng Man qui réussit à s’enfuir juste après avoir tué Ding Jing (trop de meurtres !).

Episode 18

After his crisis, Wen becomes attached to the “rescued” boy and promises him all kinds of outings. He also takes the opportunity to try to get closer to Lu Yan. Ding Jing is captured and tortured by the fake Deng Man, who wants to get her hands on a video showing a mysterious stranger (Wen?!) pushing the real Deng Man to her death. Lu Yan visits Chengyi’s apartment and helps him settle in, then invites him to breakfast in the morning. The police find the fake Deng Man, who manages to escape just after killing Ding Jing (too many murders!).

Episode 19

Une traque de met en place pour arrêter la meurtrière et Chengyi se prend des remontrances de son chef qui veut arrêter les meurtres (et moi aussi franchement !). On comprend que la meurtrière travaille pour quelqu’un qui détient sa mère. Chengyi et Lu Yan se rapprochent et Lu Yan trouve les pinces à cheveux de Deng Man chez Lu Yan et tique (ah non, ne me faites pas douter d’elle !). Lors de l’enterrement de Ding Jing, la meurtrière décide de fouiller sa maison et se fait attraper par Chengyi et son équipe. Elle finit par prendre en otage un acteur de Wen, qui le représentait (oui, Wen est subitement parti en voyage d’affaires en apprenant la morte de Ding Jing…pas suspect du tout).

Episode 19

A hunt is launched to arrest the murderess, and Chengyi is reprimanded by his boss, who wants to stop the murders (and frankly, so do I!). It becomes clear that the murderess is working for someone who has her mother. Chengyi and Lu Yan get closer and Lu Yan finds Deng Man’s hair clips at Lu Yan’s house and ticks (ah no, don’t make me doubt her!). At Ding Jing’s funeral, the murderess decides to search her house and is caught by Chengyi and his team. She ends up taking hostage one of Wen’s actors, Bofang, who was representing him (yes, Wen suddenly left on a business trip upon learning of Ding Jing’s death…not suspicious at all).

Episode 22

Chengyi décide de présenter officiellement Lu Yan à ses parents et la meilleure amie de Lu Yan commence à suspecter Wen de vouloir arnaquer son mari en lui présentant un investisseur bidon et en lui volant son argent (ce qu’il est effectivement en train de faire). La profileuse commence à comprendre que Wen a le profil d’un tueur en série et Wen pose un lapin à l’enfant hospitalisé à qui il avait promis de faire du patin à glace. Voyant l’enfant désespéré, Lu Yan décide de l’emmener patiner.

Episode 22

Chengyi decides to formally introduce Lu Yan to his parents, and Lu Yan’s best friend begins to suspect that Wen is trying to con her husband by introducing him to a bogus investor and stealing his money (which he is actually doing). The profiler begins to understand that Wen has the profile of a serial killer, and Wen stands up the hospitalized child to whom he had promised to go ice-skating. Seeing the desperate child, Lu Yan decides to take him ice-skating.

Episode 23

Wen se débrouille pour forcer Lu Yan à venir en rendez-vous avec lui et elle en profite pour lui annoncer qu’elle s’est remise avec Chengyi ce qui lui fait péter un cable. La profileuse commence à le soupçonner d’être instable et de cacher quelque chose et informé Chengyi. L’assistante de Ding Jing avoue à Lu Yan ce qui s’est passé dans le passé avant de disparaître : le chantage que faisait Ding Jing à Deng Man etc. Lu Yan et Chengyi en parlent ensemble et Lu Yan comprend que Deng Man n’a jamais eu de sentiments pour Chengyi mais que Ding Jing la faisait chanter avec une vidéo d’elle (a priori sexuelle).

Episode 23

Wen manages to force Lu Yan to go on a date with him and she takes the opportunity to tell him that she’s back with Chengyi, which sets him off. The profiler begins to suspect him of being unstable and hiding something, and informs Chengyi. Ding Jing’s assistant confesses to Lu Yan what happened in the past before she disappeared: Ding Jing’s blackmail of Deng Man and so on. Lu Yan and Chengyi discuss this together and Lu Yan understands that Deng Man never had feelings for Chengyi, but that Ding Jing was blackmailing her with a video of her.

Episode 24

Lu Yan et Chengyi comprennent que Deng Man avait une relation avec leur prof de sport et essaient de lui faire avouer. La profileuse se rapproche dangereusement de Wen et le met en garde : elle a compris que c’est un criminel prêt à tout.

Lu Yan and Chengyi realize that Deng Man had a relationship with their sports teacher and try to get him to confess. The profiler gets dangerously close to Wen and warns him: she’s realized that he’s a criminal who’ll do anything.

Episode 25

On apprend que le prof de sport a laissé Deng Man se sacrifier pour le sauver et on comprend aussi qu’il ment à la demande d’un mystérieux inconnu qui ressemble beaucoup à Wen et qui lui offre des sommes d’argent indécentes. La mère de Lu Yan débarque pour rencontrer Chengyi et lui demande de prouver à quel point il aime sa fille en cuisinant pour elle etc. Elle lui demande aussi de la conduire un peu partout et Wen (qui est toujours plein d’espoir) la voit monter avec Lu Yan dans la voiture de Chengyi et se crispe un peu (c’est dingue qu’il croit encore que Lu Yan et lui peuvent se mettre ensemble).

Episode 25

We learn that the sports teacher let Deng Man sacrifice herself to save him and we also understand that he lies at the request of a mysterious stranger who looks a lot like Wen and who offers him indecent sums of money. Lu Yan’s mother arrives to meet Chengyi and asks him to prove how much he loves her daughter by cooking for her and so on. She also asks him to drive her around, and Wen (still hopeful) sees her and Lu Yan getting into Chengyi’s car and tenses up a bit (it’s crazy that he still thinks he and Lu Yan can get together).

Episode 26

La mère de Lu Yan s’inquiète que Chengyi soit policier et mette sa vie en danger au quotidien mais Lu Yan la rassure et lui annonce qu’il n’y aura personne d’autre pour elle que Chengyi. Chengyi comprend que la meurtrière et le prof de sport sont manipulés par la même personne et ce même coach de sport décide soudainement de s’enfuir avec sa femme avant de se faire arrêter par la police. Bofeng découvre une vidéo en ligne qui le rend fou et décide de partir en vendetta contre Chengyi (tout en étant bien manipulé par Wen). On comprend qu’il a été adopté par une tante suite à la mort de ses deux parents et que cette tante a volé une cliente pour l’aider à payer ses études avant de se faire arrêter par Chengyi et la profileuse et de mourir d’une crise cardiaque dans la rue.

Episode 26

Lu Yan’s mother worries that Chengyi is a policeman and puts his life in danger on a daily basis, but Lu Yan reassures her that there will be no one for her but Chengyi. Chengyi realizes that the murderess and the coach are being manipulated by the same person, and the coach suddenly decides to run away with his wife, only to be arrested by the police. Bofeng discovers an online video that drives him mad and decides to set out on a vendetta against Chengyi (all the while being manipulated by Wen). We learn that he was adopted by an aunt following the death of both his parents, and that this aunt stole money to a client to help pay for his studies before being arrested by Chengyi and the profiler and dying of a heart attack in the street.

Episode 27

Tout le monde découvre que la tante adoptive de Bofeng a été arrêtée pour vol et Bofeng veut absolument sauver son honneur et demande à ce que Chengyi et la profileuse publient un démenti, ce qu’ils refusent de faire. Manipulé par Wen (qui tire les ficelles de toute cette supercherie), il décide d’aller agresser Chengyi et se fait arrêter. L’ami de Chengyi qui a investi dans un film avec Bofeng se retrouve embêté et commence à se demander si Wen ne la leur a pas mise à l’envers. Chengyi et la profileuse se démènent pour alléger la peine de Bofeng qui finit par prendre 5j de prison.

Episode 27

Everyone discovers that Bofeng’s adoptive aunt has been arrested for theft, and Bofeng desperate to save her honor, demands that Chengyi and the profiler issue a denial, which they refuse to do. Manipulated by Wen (who is pulling the strings of this whole deception), he decides to assault Chengyi and gets arrested. Chengyi’s friend, who has invested in a film with Bofeng, is annoyed and begins to wonder if Wen has turned them inside out. Chengyi and the profiler work hard to lighten Bofeng’s sentence, but he ends up serving 5 days in prison.

Episode 28

En prison, Bofeng devient un peu fou et décide de tuer Chengyi dès sa sortie (et bien sûr Wen continue de le monter contre Chengyi). La profileuse retrouve la meurtrière dans un film de Wen et tout le monde commence sérieusement à enquêter sur son compte. En enquêtant, Chengyi découvre que la mère de Wen est sa mère et il comprend que Wen l’a toujours détesté pour ça. Et de son côté, Wen devient de plus en plus fou et brûle des photos de Chengyi dans sa cave dédiée à Lu Yan.

Episode 28

In prison, Bofeng goes a little crazy and decides to kill Chengyi as soon as he gets out (and of course Wen continues to turn him against Chengyi). The profiler finds the murderer in one of Wen’s films, and everyone starts investigating her in earnest. While investigating, Chengyi discovers that Wen’s mother is his mother, and realizes that Wen has always hated him for it. And for his part, Wen goes increasingly mad and burns photos of Chengyi in his cellar dedicated to Lu Yan.

Episode 29

Wen rejette sa mère car il ne lui pardonne pas de ne pas être venue le chercher et d’avoir décidé de rester auprès de Chengyi. La profileuse comprend que quelqu’un tient la meurtrière avec sa mère et se met en quête de la retrouver. Bofeng est libéré et promet de se venger mais Wen l’en empêche et lui promet de trouver quelqu’un qui le vengera à sa place. Le père de Wen trouve sa maison et vient le provoquer (puis le violenter) et Wen se fait un plaisir de lui annoncer que sa mère s’est remariée, vit dans leur ville etc. (il espère sûrement que Bofeng ou son père fera le sale boulot pour lui).

Episode 29

Wen rejects his mother because he can’t forgive her for not picking him up and staying with Chengyi. The profiler realizes that someone is threatening the murderer with her mother and sets out to find her. Bofeng is released and promises revenge, but Wen stops him and promises to find someone who will avenge him instead. Wen’s father finds his house and comes to provoke him (then hits him) and Wen is happy to tell him that his mother has remarried, lives in their town etc. (he’s probably hoping that Bofeng or his father will do the dirty work for him).

Episode 30

Wen, blessé, se précipite à l’hôpital et se jette sur Lu Yan en lui demandant de quitter Chengyi et se mettre avec lui car elle l’a sauvé par le passé blablabla. Lu Yan refuse et lui demande s’il a quelque chose à voir avec la mort de Deng Man, Wang Qianqian et Ding Jing mais au lieu de démentir il se jette sur elle pour l’embrasser (et Chengyi débarque et le jette dehors). La profileuse comprend que la mère de la meurtrière est probablement morte et Chengyi utilise cette information pour commencer à la faire parler. Le meilleur ami comprend que Wen l’a arnaqué pour le punir d’être loyal à Chengyi et Bofeng se met à suivre la profileuse qui le capte en 30 secondes chrono.

Episode 30

Wen, wounded, rushes to the hospital and throws himself at Lu Yan, asking her to leave Chengyi and be with him because she saved him in the past, blah, blah, blah. Lu Yan refuses and asks him if he had anything to do with the deaths of Deng Man, Wang Qianqian and Ding Jing, but instead of denying it, he throws himself at her to kiss her (and Chengyi turns up and throws him out). The profiler realizes that the murderer’s mother is probably dead, and Chengyi uses this information to start having her to talk. The best friend realizes that Wen has conned him to punish him for being loyal to Chengyi, and Bofeng starts following the profiler, who sees him in 30 seconds.

Episode 31

La meilleure amie sauve son mari de la banqueroute et la mère de Chengyi demande à Lu Yan de porter une lettre à Wen (la pauvre ne sait pas qu’elle la met en danger à chaque fois). Grâce à Bofeng, la profileuse et son collègue réussissent à arrêter de justesse le complice de Wen qui tentait de les tuer. Bofeng comprend aussi que Wen a tout commandité et que c’est lui le vrai méchant qui le manipulait.

Episode 31

The best friend saves her husband from bankruptcy, and Chengyi’s mother asks Lu Yan to take a letter to Wen (the poor girl doesn’t know she’s putting Lu Yan in danger every time). Thanks to Bofeng, the profiler and her colleague narrowly succeed in arresting Wen’s accomplice, who was trying to kill them. Bofeng also realizes that Wen ordered the whole thing and that he was the real villain, manipulating him.

Episode 32

Wen se débrouille pour kidnapper la mère de Lu Yan avant de la faire percuter par une voiture et de la laisser dans le coma, sous les yeux de Chengyi. Chengyi comprend que sa relation avec Lu Yan entraînera sûrement d’autres blessés mais Lu Yan refuse de le laisser partir. Wen disparaît de la circulation et tout le monde se met à sa recherche car tout le monde a compris qu’il est le mastermind derrière tous ces meurtres et « accidents ». Chengyi apprend à la meurtrière que sa mère est morte depuis belle lurette et elle informe Chengyi que Ding Jing avait une vidéo compromettante où on la voyait tuer Deng Man avec l’aide de Wen.

Episode 32

Wen manages to kidnap Lu Yan’s mother before having her hit by a car and left in a coma, while Chengyi looks on. Chengyi realizes that his relationship with Lu Yan is bound to lead to more casualties, but Lu Yan refuses to let him go. Wen disappears from sight and everyone starts looking for him, having realized that he is the mastermind behind all these murders and “accidents”. Chengyi tells the murderess that her mother has been dead for a long time, and she informs Chengyi that Ding Jing had a compromising video of her killing Deng Man with Wen’s help.

Episode 33

Chengyi retrouve la preuve compromettante et se met en quête de retrouver Wen qui a disparu de la circulation. Lu Yan continue à prouver son amour et sa dévotion totale à Chengyi pour qu’il puisse finir son enquête sereinement. Le prof de sport raconte tout, comment Deng Man a été poussée au suicide par Ding Jing et Wen et comment Wen a payé son silence toutes ces années. Le complice de Wen avoue également qu’il lui a acheté une voiture d’occasion et la police le retrouve dans la concession puis le suit jusqu’à un immeuble désaffecté où il a prévu de les attirer et de les piéger. Il se débrouille pour blesser un collègue de Chengyi et fait exploser la pièce au moment où Chengyi le sauve.

Episode 33

Chengyi finds the incriminating evidence and sets out to find Wen, who has disappeared off the grid. Lu Yan continues to prove his love and total devotion to Chengyi so that he can finish his investigation in peace. The sports teacher tells all, how Deng Man was driven to suicide by Ding Jing and Wen, and how Wen has paid for his silence all these years. Wen’s accomplice also confesses that he bought him a second-hand car, and the police track him down in the dealership and follow him to a disused building where he plans to lure and trap them. He manages to injure one of Chengyi’s colleagues and blows up the room just as Chengyi rescues him.

Episode 34

Chengyi et son collègue sont hospitalisés mais saufs et Chengyi et Lu Yan se rapprochent encore mutuellement à l’hôpital. Wen organise une fausse évasion pour faire sortir Chengyi de l’hôpital et en profite pour kidnapper Lu Yan et l’emmener dans une villa en bord de lac. Dans la villa, il se comporte comme s’ils étaient en couple et se préparaient à vivre le reste de leur vie ensemble (très angoissant). Chengyi est au fond du trou et cherche désespérément des indices pour sauver Lu Yan (et moi je suis au fond du trou parce que ce drama ne se termine jamais).

Episode 34

Chengyi and his colleague are hospitalized but unharmed, and Chengyi and Lu Yan become even closer in hospital. Wen organizes a fake escape to get Chengyi out of hospital and takes advantage of the situation to kidnap Lu Yan and take her to a lakeside villa. In the villa, he behaves as if they were a couple preparing to spend the rest of their lives together (very scary). Chengyi is at rock bottom, desperately looking for clues to save Lu Yan (and I’m at rock bottom because this drama never ends).

Episode 35

Après s’être fait rejeter par Lu Yan, Wen décide que la seule solution est qu’il meurent ensemble sous les yeux de Chengyi. Chengyi fini par les retrouver alors que Wen s’est accroché à Lu Yan et à une ancre avec pour objectif de sauter dans le lac. Chengyi réussit à le provoquer suffisamment pour qu’il lâche Lu Yan et il finit par se jeter dans le lac en espérant emporter Lu Yan que Chengyi arrive à sauver au dernier moment. Tout est bien qui finit bien, la mère de Lu Yan se réveille, Chengyi reprend ses enquêtes et Lu Yan ses opérations.

Episode 35

After being rejected by Lu Yan, Wen decides that the only solution is for them to die together before Chengyi’s eyes. Chengyi eventually tracks them down as Wen clings to Lu Yan and an anchor with the aim of jumping into the lake. Chengyi manages to provoke him enough to let go of Lu Yan, and he ends up throwing himself into the lake, hoping to take Lu Yan with him, whom Chengyi manages to save at the last moment. All’s well that ends well, Lu Yan’s mother wakes up, Chengyi resumes his investigations and Lu Yan his operations.

Episode 36

Enfin libres, Chengyi et Lu Yan se retrouvent et se promettent un amour éternel tout comme leurs meilleurs amis qui repartent à 0 avec leur amour comme base de tout. Wen Peng est condamné à mort et continue à mépriser Chengyi et sa mère, la profileuse et Bofeng se mettent aussi ensemble et Chengyi et Lu Yan coulent des jours heureux et arrêtent ensemble des pickpockets.

Episode 36

Free at last, Chengyi and Lu Yan reunite and promise themselves eternal love, as do their best friends, who start afresh with their love as the basis of everything. Wen is sentenced to death and continues to despise Chengyi and his mother, the profiler and Bofeng also get together and Chengyi and Lu Yan live happily ever after, arresting pickpockets together.

Mon avis

Une énorme déception pour ce drama tant attendu…
Fan inconditionnelle de Johnny Huang, j’avais de grandes attentes pour cette série. Malheureusement, je dois avouer que j’ai peiné à aller jusqu’au bout.

Ce que j’ai aimé :

• Johnny Huang, fidèle à lui-même : Son jeu d’acteur est impeccable et reste, selon moi, l’un des rares points positifs de ce drama
• Des méchants convaincants : Ils sont parfaitement détestables et ajoutent une tension palpable à l’histoire
• Une bande originale immersive : La musique accompagne bien l’ambiance générale et nous plonge efficacement dans l’univers du drama

Ce qui m’a déplu :

• Aucune alchimie entre le couple principal : Tout semble forcé, artificiel, et la romance est quasi inexistante – un vrai manque pour moi
• Un rythme beaucoup trop lent : Avec un nombre excessif d’épisodes, j’ai fini par regarder presque toute la série en accéléré… et c’était encore trop long !

My opinion

A huge disappointment for a highly anticipated drama…
As a big fan of Johnny Huang, I had high expectations for this drama. Unfortunately, I struggled to make it through to the end.

What I liked :

• Johnny Huang’s performance: As always, he delivered an outstanding performance, which was one of the very few highlights of this drama
• The villains: They’re convincingly evil and frustrating, adding some tension to the story
• A fitting soundtrack: The music complements the drama’s tone and helps immerse you in its world

What I didn’t like :

• No chemistry between the main couple: Their relationship feels forced and artificial, with very little romance—definitely not enough for my taste
• It’s WAY too long: The pacing dragged so much that I watched almost all the episodes on fast-forward… and it still felt too slow !

En résumé, malgré la performance de Johnny Huang et quelques atouts comme la musique, ce drama n’a pas su me captiver. Un rythme mal dosé et un couple principal sans chimie m’ont laissée sur ma faim. Dommage !

Despite Johnny Huang’s strong performance and a good soundtrack, this drama failed to hold my attention. The lack of chemistry and overly drawn-out pacing left me disappointed. Such a shame!
