Pourquoi ce drama ?

Parce que j’ai adoré Chen Fei Yu dans le drama Lighter and Princess et que je ne voulais pas rater son dernier drama.

Why this drama ?

Because I loved Chen Fei Yu in the drama Lighter and Princess and didn’t want to miss his latest drama.

Episode 1

Gan Yang est investisseur et passionné de sport et Ding Zhi Tong travaille pour un fond d’investissement et rêve d’investir dans une entreprise de sport basée à Shanghai. Son contact l’informe que l’investisseur majoritaire de sa société est contre l’investissement et elle se met en tête de le rencontrer et le convaincre. Il se trouve que Gan Yang et Ding Zhi Tong sont ex et que leur histoire s’est très mal terminée, elle en épousant un autre et lui disparaissant pour toujours. Leur histoire a commencé à la fac suite à plusieurs coïncidences qui les ont poussés l’un vers l’autre. Quelques années plus tard, ils vivent des vies très similaires à base de travail, sport, vin blanc et tomates cerise. Gan Yang comprend vite que Ding Zhi Tong est de retour à Shanghai et tente de la trouver sans y arriver et elle jure de le tuer si elle le revoit un jour, ce qui arrive lors d’une compétition de CrossFit.

Episode 1

Gan Yang is an investor and sports enthusiast, and Ding Zhi Tong works for an investment fund and dreams of investing in a sports company based in Shanghai. Her contact informs her that the majority investor in her company is against the investment, and she sets out to meet and convince him. It turns out that Gan Yang and Ding Zhi Tong are exes, and their story ended very badly, with her marrying someone else and him disappearing forever. Their story began in college, following several coincidences that brought them together. A few years later, they live very similar lives centered around work, sports, white wine, and cherry tomatoes. Gan Yang quickly realizes that Ding Zhi Tong is back in Shanghai and tries to find her without success, while she vows to kill him if she ever sees him again, which happens during a CrossFit competition.

Episode 2

On en apprend un peu plus sur la rencontre de Gan Yang et Ding Zhi Tong. L’obsession de Ding Zhi Tong est de faire de l’argent, elle enchaîne donc les petits boulots qui lui permettent de se mettre à l’abri financièrement tout en étudiant la finance à l’université. Gan Yang est l’héritier d’une entreprise fabriquant des baskets pour de grandes marques et il s’efforce d’inventer des baskets incroyables pour sauver l’entreprise de sa famille (tout en étudiant aussi la finance). Les deux se rencontrent par hasard (Gan Yang a un coup de foudre immédiat) et se croisent régulièrement. Leurs meilleurs amis les inscrivent sur une app de rencontre et ils obtiennent le plus haut taux de compatibilité de toute la plate-forme sans savoir qui est l’autre. Lors d’un événement, Ding Zhi Tong découvre que Gan Yang est son match sur l’appli et décide de ne rien dire mais il finit par comprendre qui elle est et lui demande de courir avec lui (visiblement c’est comme ça qu’il avoue ses sentiments).

Episode 2

We learn more about the meeting of Gan Yang and Ding Zhi Tong. Ding Zhi Tong’s obsession is to make money, so she juggles several part-time jobs to secure her finances while studying finance at university. Gan Yang is the heir to a company that makes sneakers for major brands, and he strives to invent incredible sneakers to save his family’s business (while also studying finance). They meet by chance (Gan Yang has an immediate crush) and frequently cross paths. Their best friends sign them up for a dating app, and they achieve the highest compatibility rating on the platform without knowing each other. At an event, Ding Zhi Tong discovers that Gan Yang is her match on the app and decides to say nothing, but he eventually figures out who she is and asks her to run with him (apparently, that’s how he confesses his feelings).

Episode 3

Zhi Tong et Gan Yang passent tous les deux un entretien pour une banque d’investissement mais Zhi Tong souffre de crampes menstruelles terribles. Gan Yang va lui acheter des médicaments et s’arrange pour passer avant elle et lui faire gagner un maximum de temps pour lui permettre de se remettre avant son entretien. À la fin de l’entretien, elle s’évanouit et Gan Yang la sauve et la ramène sur le campus. Pour le remercier, elle l’invite à manger à la cafétéria et la rumeur qu’ils sont en couple se propage sur le forum de leur université. Gan Yang fait stopper les discussions sur le forum et pars faire un marathon à Hong Kong où il fait un vœu pour qu’elle ait l’entretien qu’elle a passé (et auquel il s’est assuré d’échouer pour lui laisser toutes ses chances).

Episode 3

Zhi Tong and Gan Yang both have an interview for an investment bank, but Zhi Tong suffers from terrible menstrual cramps. Gan Yang buys her medicine and arranges to go before her to give her as much time as possible to recover before her interview. At the end of the interview, she faints, and Gan Yang saves her and brings her back to campus. To thank him, she invites him to eat at the cafeteria, and the rumor that they are a couple spreads on their university forum. Gan Yang stops the discussions on the forum and goes to run a marathon in Hong Kong, where he makes a wish for her to succeed in the interview (which he ensured he failed to give her a better chance).

Episode 4

Zhi Tong surprend des coureurs (qui testent les basket de Gan Yang) se moquer de Gan Yang et de ses chaussures et dire qu’ils profitent de lui. Elle décide de leur donner une leçon et finit par tout raconter à Gan Yang qui leur annonce qu’il ne travaillera plus avec eux. Pour se venger, les coureurs décident d’attaquer Zhi Tong mais Gan Yang la protège et les attaque en retour. La meilleure amie de Zhi Tong essaie de se faire inviter à un sommet de finance par un de ses professeurs qui décide de faire concourir les élèves pour gagner la place. Gan Yang met tout en œuvre pour séduire Zhi Tong et se rendre indispensable et elle se laisse faire volontiers jusqu’à ce qu’elle reçoive un appel de l’université qui a reçut une citation à comparaître la concernant (juste avant qu’ils entrent dans une salle de cinéma pour voir le film Xi Huan Ni – je t’adore en français 😉 ).

Episode 4

Zhi Tong overhears runners (testing Gan Yang’s sneakers) mocking Gan Yang and his shoes, saying they are taking advantage of him. She decides to teach them a lesson and eventually tells Gan Yang everything, who announces that he will no longer work with them. To get revenge, the runners decide to attack Zhi Tong, but Gan Yang protects her and retaliates. Zhi Tong’s best friend tries to get invited to a finance summit by one of her professors, who decides to have the students compete for the spot. Gan Yang does everything to win over Zhi Tong and make himself indispensable, and she willingly lets him until she receives a call from the university informing her that she has received a subpoena (just before they enter a cinema to watch the film Xi Huan Ni).

Episode 5

On apprend que l’oncle de Zhi Tong a prêté de l’argent à son père avant sa mort et qu’il demande à Zhi Tong de le rembourser (voilà donc la raison pour laquelle elle est obsédée par l’argent). Elle découvre que Gan Yang a payé pour réparer son ordinateur et lui dit qu’elle ne veut rien devoir à personne, suite à quoi il se met à l’éviter. Persuadée d’avoir échoué à son entretien, elle postule dans une nouvelle entreprise où le recruteur lui propose de coucher avec lui pour sa carrière (elle refuse, évidemment). Elle participe ensuite à une session de recrutement dans la forêt et voit ce même recruteur tripoter une autre candidate, elle décide donc de quitter la session et Gan Yang la récupère en pleine forêt (il était inquiet pour elle). Ils finissent par se retrouver au restaurant tous les deux et leur alchimie est évidente.

Episode 5

We learn that Zhi Tong’s uncle lent money to her father before he died, and he asks Zhi Tong to pay him back (this is why she is obsessed with money). She discovers that Gan Yang paid to repair her computer and tells him that she does not want to owe anyone anything, after which he starts avoiding her. Believing she has failed her interview, she applies to a new company where the recruiter offers her a sexual favor for her career (she refuses, of course). She then participates in a recruitment session in the forest and sees the same recruiter groping another candidate, so she decides to leave the session, and Gan Yang picks her up in the middle of the forest (he was worried about her). They end up at a restaurant together, and their chemistry is evident.

Episode 6

Zhi Tong decide de publier un post pour exposer le recruteur et l’entreprise la menace de la traîner en justice. Ses amis lui conseillent de retirer le post et de ne pas être si impulsive mais Gan Yang la soutient et lui dit qu’elle a fait le bon choix. Il finit par convaincre l’autre victime d’appuyer le témoignage de Zhi Tong et le harceleur se fait renvoyer. Zhi Tong découvre que Gan Yang l’a aidée et est ravie, elle l’informe qu’elle a réussi l’entretien qu’ils avaient passé ensemble et qu’elle courra avec lui quand elle aura reçu son offre. Il lui reste un entretien à Shanghai et lui a un marathon au même endroit au même moment : ils décident donc d’aller ensemble à Shanghai. Gan Yang est plein d’attentions pour Zhi Tong et prévoit de lui avouer son amour lors de son marathon le lendemain. Zhi Tong réussit son entretien et décide de repartir à Beijing avant de changer d’avis et d’aller soutenir Gan Yang lors de son marathon (et il est fou de joie).

Episode 6

Zhi Tong decides to post about the recruiter, and the company threatens to take her to court. Her friends advise her to take down the post and not be so impulsive, but Gan Yang supports her and tells her she made the right choice. He eventually convinces the other victim to support Zhi Tong’s testimony, and the harasser gets fired. Zhi Tong discovers that Gan Yang helped her and is thrilled; she informs him that she passed the interview they had together and that she will run with him when she receives her offer. She has one more interview in Shanghai, and he has a marathon at the same place at the same time: they decide to go to Shanghai together. Gan Yang is very attentive to Zhi Tong and plans to confess his love to her during his marathon the next day. Zhi Tong succeeds in her interview and decides to return to Beijing before changing her mind and going to support Gan Yang during his marathon (and he is overjoyed).

Episode 7

Pendant le marathon, Zhi Tong rencontre une amie d’enfance de Gan Yang qui lui fait croire qu’ils sont ensemble et Zhi Tong s’enfuit et rentre à Shanghai puis se met à ignorer Gan Yang. Un ami d’enfance de Zhi Tong se met lui aussi à la draguer ouvertement et fait croire à Gan Yang qu’ils sont ensemble mais Zhi Tong le rejette. Gan Yang finit par comprendre qu’elle l’ignore à cause de son amie d’enfance et il lui avoue qu’il n’y a rien entre eux puis lui redemande de courir avec lui.

Episode 7

During the marathon, Zhi Tong meets a childhood friend of Gan Yang who makes her believe they are together, and Zhi Tong runs away and returns to Shanghai, then starts ignoring Gan Yang. A childhood friend of Zhi Tong also starts openly flirting with her and makes Gan Yang believe they are together, but Zhi Tong rejects him. Gan Yang eventually realizes that she is ignoring him because of her childhood friend, and he confesses that there is nothing between them before asking her to run with him again.

Episode 8

Zhi Tong et Gan Yang finissent par arriver à courir ensemble mais ils sont pris dans la pluie et Gan Yang la ramène chez lui. Ils peignent une paire de basket ensemble, Zhi Tong reçoit une offre d’emploi de la société pour qui elle a passé tous ses entretiens et elle embrasse Gan Yang (qui l’embrasse en retour). Zhi Tong, qui va devoir aller travailler à Shanghai, commence à redouter la relation longue distance et réalise que Gan Yang a pas mal d’admiratrices. Il lui promet qu’il n’en regardera jamais une autre et qu’elle est son premier amour, la seule qui ait touché son cœur (mignon).

Episode 8

Zhi Tong and Gan Yang finally manage to run together, but they get caught in the rain, and Gan Yang takes her back to his place. They paint a pair of sneakers together, Zhi Tong receives a job offer from the company for which she interviewed, and she kisses Gan Yang (who kisses her back). Zhi Tong, who will have to work in Shanghai, starts to dread the long-distance relationship and realizes that Gan Yang has quite a few admirers. He promises her that he will never look at another girl and that she is his first love, the only one who has touched his heart.

Episode 9

Zhi Tong déménage à Shanghai et Gan Yang l’aide à trouver un logement. Elle s’inquiète de leur future relation longue distance mais il la rassure en lui disant qu’ils passeront leur vie ensemble et qu’une petite période à distance ce n’est pas grand chose. L’admirateur de Zhi Tong, Feng Sheng, essaie de la dissuader de sortir avec Gan Yang qui n’est pas du même monde (lui serait évidemment bien mieux) mais elle le remballe. Elle finit par commencer le travail et apprend que 3 des nouveaux entrants seront virés au bout de 6 mois, elle doit donc être performante et se jette corps et âme dans le travail. Au passage, on découvre que l’amie d’enfance de Gan Yang, Xu Chen Xi, se fait embaucher comme stagiaire (grâce à ses connections) pour torturer Zhi Tong.

Episode 9

Zhi Tong moves to Shanghai, and Gan Yang helps her find housing. She worries about their future long-distance relationship, but he reassures her by saying that they will spend their lives together and that a short period apart is not a big deal. Zhi Tong’s admirer, Feng Sheng, tries to dissuade her from dating Gan Yang, who is not from the same world (he would obviously be much better), but she dismisses him. She eventually starts working and learns that three of the new hires will be fired after six months, so she must perform well and throws herself into her work. Along the way, we discover that Gan Yang’s childhood friend, Xu Chen Xi, gets hired as an intern (thanks to her connections) to torment Zhi Tong.

Episode 10

Zhi Tong se démène au travail et réussit à faire ses preuves malgré un supérieur qui lui met des bâtons dans les roues. Gan Yang perd son investisseur principal mais se démène pour en trouver un autre et continuer à développer les meilleures chaussures. Tous les deux se mettent à voyager à travers la Chine pour leur travail et sans vraiment se croiser ils arrivent à maintenir un lien à base de petits clins d’œil et de déclarations d’amour enflammées.

Episode 10

Zhi Tong works hard and manages to prove herself despite a superior who puts obstacles in her way. Gan Yang loses his main investor but works hard to find another and continue developing the best shoes. They both start traveling across China for work, and without really crossing paths, they manage to maintain a connection through little winks and passionate declarations of love.

Episode 11

Zhi Tong et Gan Yang continuent à travailler comme des forcenés mais Gan Yang réussit à se glisser dans le planning de Zhi Tong pour passer du temps avec elle et l’aider à passer du temps avec sa mère. Il finit par dormir chez elle (par terre, ne nous enflammons pas) et découvre avec effroi qu’elle a des rats dans sa chambre. L’entreprise de Gan Yang ne se passe pas aussi bien que prévu et il ne cesse de perdre et retrouver des investisseurs.

Episode 11

Zhi Tong and Gan Yang continue to work tirelessly, but Gan Yang manages to slip into Zhi Tong’s schedule to spend time with her and help her spend time with her mother. He ends up sleeping over at her place (on the floor, let’s not get carried away) and discovers with horror that she has rats in her room. Gan Yang’s company is not doing as well as expected, and he keeps losing and regaining investors.

Episode 12

Gan Yang souffre de voir Zhi Tong vivre dans un petit appartement, prendre le métro etc. (il a beaucoup d’argent et dépense sans compter), il décide donc de louer un grand appartement en plein centre ville pour Zhi Tong sans lui dire. Il le rénove entièrement et lorsqu’il veut le lui donner, elle refuse et se braque : pas question de gaspiller autant d’argent. Elle finit par proposer à une collègue de le sous louer et l’amie de Gan Yang, Chen Xi, l’entend et raconte tout à Gan Yang qui la prend sur le fait et s’enfuie. Elle finit par aller voir l’appartement et réalise qu’il s’est démené pour elle : une peinture à son goût, les meubles qu’elle voulait etc. Et elle se sent mal et cherche à le joindre sans succès.

Episode 12

Gan Yang is pained to see Zhi Tong living in a small apartment, taking the subway, etc. (he has a lot of money and spends freely), so he decides to rent a large apartment in the city center for Zhi Tong without telling her. He completely renovates it, and when he wants to give it to her, she refuses and gets defensive: no way is she going to waste that much money. She eventually suggests to a colleague that she sublet it, and Gan Yang’s friend, Chen Xi, overhears and tells Gan Yang, who confronts her and runs away. She eventually goes to see the apartment and realizes that he has worked hard for her: a paint job she likes, the furniture she wanted, etc. She feels guilty and tries to reach out to him without success.

Episode 13

Zhi Tong planifie de faire une visite surprise à Gan Yang mais elle doit annuler à la dernière minute car son chef a disparu et qu’elle a une réunion importante où elle doit le remplacer. Elle finit pas découvrir que son chef est hospitalisé pour une méningite et il finit par en mourir. Gan Yang se précipite aux côtés de Zhi Tong pour la rassurer et lui demande de mieux prendre soin d’elle. Elle finit par accepter d’emménager dans son appartement et promet de le rembourser (sauf si elle finit par l’épouser). Gan Yang installe son laboratoire à Shanghai et tous les deux vivent de beaux moments ensemble avant que Gan Yang retourne à la fac (oui, il est toujours étudiant) et Zhi Tong finit par décrocher son CDI.

Episode 13

Zhi Tong plans to surprise Gan Yang with a visit, but she has to cancel at the last minute because her boss has gone missing, and she has an important meeting to replace him. She eventually finds out that her boss is hospitalized with meningitis and ends up dying. Gan Yang rushes to Zhi Tong’s side to comfort her and urges her to take better care of herself. She eventually agrees to move into his apartment and promises to pay him back (unless she ends up marrying him). Gan Yang sets up his lab in Shanghai, and they share beautiful moments together before he returns to college (yes, he is still a student), while Zhi Tong finally secures her permanent position.

Episode 14

Qin Chang, le prof de finance de Zhi Tong, dont sa meilleure amie Ming Mei est folle amoureuse en secret, débarque dans son entreprise et prend un poste de directeur (j’adore l’idée). Zhi Tong joue un peu les entremetteuse et Ming Mei crève d’envie de se mettre avec lui alors qu’il est un peu plus timide (mais en a tout autant envie). Le fils d’une tante de Zhi Tong qui lui avait prêté de l’argent apparaît pour extorquer Zhi Tong et découvre que Gan Yang est riche. Il décide de faire pression sur Zhi Tong et lui fait rater la rencontre avec la mère de Gan Yang. Elle finit par parler de sa dette à Gan Yang qui met au point un plan pour faire fuir le cousin (et ça marche). Chen Xi voit par hasard le père de Gan Yang, qui visiblement est un sujet tabou, et le prévient ce qui le fait rentrer chez sa mère en vitesse.

Episode 14

Qin Chang, Zhi Tong’s finance professor, who her best friend Ming Mei is secretly in love with, shows up at her company and takes a managerial position (I love the idea). Zhi Tong plays matchmaker a bit, and Ming Mei is desperate to get together with him while he is a bit more shy (but equally eager). Zhi Tong’s cousin, who lent her money, appears to extort her and discovers that Gan Yang is rich. He decides to pressure Zhi Tong and causes her to miss the meeting with Gan Yang’s mother. She eventually tells Gan Yang about her debt, and he devises a plan to scare off her cousin (and it works). By chance, Chen Xi sees Gan Yang’s father, who is apparently a taboo subject, and warns him, causing him to rush back to his mother.

Episode 15

Gan Yang rentre chez lui et promet à Zhi Tong de la voir après le nouvel an chinois (et on comprend bien que tout ne va pas si bien se passer). Il découvre que son père (qui était emprisonné pour détournement de fond) est sorti de prison et que la société de sa mère est en très mauvaise posture et doit beaucoup d’argent. Il découvre aussi que son père a prévu de régler cette crise en falsifiant des documents officiels quitte à faire arrêter sa mère. En voulant empêcher son mari de falsifier sa signature, la mère de Gan Yang se blesse et tombe dans le coma, obligeant Gan Yang à reprendre en main l’entreprise familiale et gérer la crise en vendant tout ce qu’il a. Ming Mei se voit proposer un poste incroyable aux États Unis et hésite à accepter pour vivre son idylle avec Qin Chang.

Episode 15

Gan Yang returns home and promises Zhi Tong he will see her after the Chinese New Year (and we understand that things are not going to go well). He discovers that his father (who was imprisoned for embezzlement) is out of prison and that his mother’s company is in very bad shape and owes a lot of money. He also learns that his father plans to solve this crisis by forging official documents, even if it means having his mother arrested. In trying to prevent his husband from forging her signature, Gan Yang’s mother gets injured and falls into a coma, forcing Gan Yang to take over the family business and manage the crisis by selling everything he has. Ming Mei is offered an incredible position in the United States and hesitates to accept it to pursue her romance with Qin Chang.

Episode 16

Gan Yang se démène pour sauver la boite de sa mère et n’explique rien à Zhi Tong, ni les problèmes de l’entreprise ni le coma de sa mère. Ming Mei décide de partir aux États Unis et regrette que Qin Chang ne la retienne pas alors qu’il veut la laisser réaliser ses rêves. Gan Yang embauche Chen Xi comme assistante de direction (et on imagine bien qu’elle va se servir de ce titre pour faire fuir Zhi Tong) puis se fait tabasser en essayant de récupérer l’argent de son entreprise. Il réalise qu’il ne peut pas protéger Zhi Tong et lui offrir la vie dont elle rêve et finit par la quitter par téléphone sans explication. Zhi Tong débarque chez Gan Yang et croit le trouver en train de la tromper avec Chen Xi, il ne nie pas (pour qu’elle lâche l’affaire), elle le rembourse pour le loyer et récupère sa reconnaissance de dette avant de partir, dévastée.

Episode 16

Gan Yang struggles to save his mother’s company and does not explain anything to Zhi Tong, neither the company’s problems nor his mother’s coma. Ming Mei decides to go to the United States and regrets that Qin Chang doesn’t stop her, even though he wants her to realize her dreams. Gan Yang hires Chen Xi as an executive assistant (and we can imagine she will use this title to drive Zhi Tong away) and then gets beaten up while trying to recover money for his company. He realizes that he cannot protect Zhi Tong and provide her with the life she dreams of and ends up breaking up with her over the phone without explanation. Zhi Tong shows up at Gan Yang’s place and thinks she finds him cheating on her with Chen Xi; he doesn’t deny it (to get her to drop it). She pays him back for the rent and retrieves her IOU before leaving, devastated.

Episode 17

Gan Yang fait une dépression et Zhi Tong se fait hospitaliser à cause du stress. Elle finit par quitter l’appartement avec l’aide de Feng Sheng (oui, il était toujours tapis dans l’ombre attendant que Gan Yang fasse un faux pas) et décide de l’épouser (alors là par contre je ne comprend pas). Ming Mei informe Gan Yang qui se précipite sur les lieux de l’essayage de robe de mariée de Zhi Tong et lui demande si elle épouse Feng Sheng par amour ou pour se venger de lui. Évidemment elle répond qu’elle aime Feng Sheng et demande à Gan Yang de ne plus jamais se montrer devant elle, puis il part.

6 ans plus tard, Gan Yang et Zhi Tong se retrouvent lors de la compétition de CrossFit et finissent par dîner au restaurant ou Zhi Tong est exécrable et le force à boire alors qu’il a clairement des problèmes de santé. Chen Xi participe au dîner et se comporte comme l’épouse de Gan Yang ce qui énerve Zhi Tong qui finit par demander à être écartée du projet d’investissement de son entreprise sans succès. Zhi Tong continue à essayer de mettre en place son projet et Gan Yang a bien l’intention d’en profiter pour renouer le contact avec elle mais elle le rejette.

Episode 17

Gan Yang falls into depression, and Zhi Tong gets hospitalized due to stress. She eventually leaves the apartment with the help of Feng Sheng (yes, he was still lurking in the shadows waiting for Gan Yang to make a mistake) and decides to marry him (I really don’t understand this). Ming Mei informs Gan Yang, who rushes to the location of Zhi Tong’s wedding dress fitting and asks her if she is marrying Feng Sheng out of love or to get back at him. Of course, she answers that she loves Feng Sheng and tells Gan Yang to never show up in front of her again, and then he leaves. Six years later, Gan Yang and Zhi Tong meet again at the CrossFit competition and end up dining at a restaurant where Zhi Tong is unbearable and forces him to drink, even though he clearly has health issues. Chen Xi attends the dinner and acts like Gan Yang’s wife, which annoys Zhi Tong, who eventually requests to be removed from her company’s investment project without success. Zhi Tong continues trying to push her project forward, and Gan Yang intends to use this opportunity to reconnect with her, but she rejects him.

Episode 18

Zhi Tong décide de convaincre les autres actionnaires d’accepter son projet pour avancer sans que Gan Yang ne la bloque mais ils refusent tous et préviennent Gan Yang qui intervient à chaque fois pour la protéger. Il finit par lui proposer de venir avec lui à Beijing pour qu’elle comprenne pourquoi il refuse de devoir de l’argent à qui que ce soit (et au passage il récupère son 06 en toute détente). On découvre que Ming Mei est mariée au développeur de son ancienne application de rencontre (je ne désespère pas de la voir se mettre avec Qin Chang) qui tente de l’écarter de l’entreprise et qui semble même la tromper.

Episode 18

Zhi Tong decides to convince the other shareholders to accept her project so she can move forward without Gan Yang blocking her, but they all refuse and warn Gan Yang, who intervenes each time to protect her. He eventually offers to take her with him to Beijing so she can understand why he refuses to owe anyone money (and he casually gets her phone number). We learn that Ming Mei is married to the developer of her former dating app (I still hope to see her with Qin Chang), who tries to push her out of the company and seems to be cheating on her.

Episode 19

Ming Mei surprend son mari en train de la tromper, filme la scène et lui jette les papiers du divorce au visage. Zhi Tong suit Gan Yang à Beijing et découvre qu’il a réalisé son rêve de créer une plateforme globale dédiée aux baskets et décide de ne plus le harceler avec son investissement dont il n’a visiblement pas besoin. Elle recommence à succomber un peu à son charme et il découvre qu’elle n’est pas mariée et comprend qu’elle en pince encore pour lui. Il finit par l’inviter à dîner et elle fait demi tour en se rappelant de leur rupture puis elle se saoule et il la ramène chez lui (je le raconte vite mais en gros il s’inquiète pour elle et c’est très romantique). Au réveil, Gan Yang explique à Zhi Tong qu’il l’aime et qu’il sait qu’elle n’est pas mariée et il lui propose de travailler avec lui. Elle le rejette, lui annonce qu’elle a essayé de l’amadouer pour signer son projet et s’en va. On comprend qu’elle a perdu sa mère après la rupture et que Feng Sheng a été là pour l’épauler (je suis curieuse de connaître l’histoire de ce faux mariage quand même).

Episode 19

Ming Mei catches her husband cheating, films the scene, and throws the divorce papers in his face. Zhi Tong follows Gan Yang to Beijing and discovers that he has realized his dream of creating a global platform dedicated to sneakers and decides to stop harassing him about the investment he clearly doesn’t need. She starts to succumb to his charm again, and he discovers that she is not married and realizes that she still has feelings for him. He eventually invites her to dinner, and she turns around, remembering their breakup, then gets drunk, and he takes her back to his place (I’m summarizing quickly, but he is genuinely worried about her, and it’s very romantic). Upon waking up, Gan Yang explains to Zhi Tong that he loves her and knows she is not married and offers her to work with him. She rejects him, informs him that she tried to charm him into signing her project, and leaves. We understand that she lost her mother after the breakup and that Feng Sheng was there to support her (I’m curious to know the story behind this fake marriage, though).

Episode 22

En découvrant qu’elle n’a jamais épousé Feng Sheng, Gan Yang file retrouver Zhi Tong à Hong Kong et essaie de la voir pour lui expliquer pourquoi il a agit comme il l’a fait et ce qu’il a vécu. Elle refuse mais il utilise son patron pour la rencontrer « professionnellement » et lui raconter l’histoire de son entreprise. En bref, il a eu beaucoup de mal à solder ses dettes puis son père a voulu l’attaquer en justice, il a réussi à le piéger pour éviter le procès et lui a versé une somme colossale pour qu’il disparaisse à jamais. L’entreprise a continué à galérer jusqu’à ce que Gan Yang trouve un nouveau matériaux, achète des machines pour le produire et devienne un incontournable dans le monde de la basket. Grace aux sommes gagnées, il a lancé sa propre entreprise et est devenu actionnaire de training box, l’entreprise dont Zhi Tong veut rentrer au capital. Gan Yang explique à Zhi Tong qu’il comprend maintenant pourquoi elle délaissait sa santé et privilégiait l’argent et lui demande de se remettre avec lui. Zhi Tong refuse et le renvoie puis elle finit par aller le retrouver, sous la pluie. Il lui avoue qu’il l’aime, elle répond qu’elle aussi mais cet imbecile ne l’entend pas et ils rentrent chacun de leur côté. Ming Mei (la meilleure amie) se dispute avec son ex mari quand Qin Chang entre dans la pièce, elle comprend qu’il a compris qu’elle lui a menti et lui demande de faire son travail correctement pour lui permettre de racheter les parts de son mari et de devenir une femme accomplie. Elle lui demande de bien séparer vie privée et vie professionnelle, ce à quoi il répond que ça ne sera sûrement pas possible (j’ai trop hâte de les voir ensemble !).

Episode 22

Upon discovering that she never married Feng Sheng, Gan Yang rushes to find Zhi Tong in Hong Kong and tries to see her to explain why he acted as he did and what he went through. She refuses, but he uses her boss to meet with her « professionally » and recount the story of his company. In short, he struggled immensely to settle his debts, and then his father tried to sue him. He managed to trap his father to avoid the lawsuit and paid him a huge sum to make him disappear forever. The company continued to struggle until Gan Yang found a new material, bought machines to produce it, and became a key player in the sneaker world. Thanks to the profits, he launched his own company and became a shareholder of Training Box, the company Zhi Tong wants to invest in. Gan Yang explains to Zhi Tong that he now understands why she neglected her health and prioritized money, and he asks her to get back together with him. Zhi Tong refuses and sends him away, but she eventually goes to find him in the rain. He confesses that he loves her, and she replies that she loves him too, but this fool doesn’t hear her, and they each go their separate ways. Ming Mei (the best friend) argues with her ex-husband when Qin Chang enters the room; she realizes he understands that she lied to him and asks him to do his job properly to help her buy out her husband’s shares and become an accomplished woman. She asks him to keep his personal and professional lives separate, to which he responds that it probably won’t be possible (I can’t wait to see them together!).

Episode 23

Zhi Tong invite Gan Yang chez elle et lui annonce qu’elle le pardonne et qu’il a bien fait de la quitter car elle n’aurait jamais su gérer cette crise mais elle lui demande de rester amis, ce qu’il refuse. Elle finit par décider de retourner travailler pour l’entreprise de Gan Yang et il se remet à la poursuivre sans succès. Zhi Tong découvre que son voisin est en fait un des grands patrons de son entreprise, Wang Se, et l’informe qu’elle ne souhaite pas être amie avec lui (et lui non plus ne prend pas bien la chose). Il se met à charger son planning au maximum pour qu’elle n’ait plus de temps à passer avec Gan Yang.

Episode 23

Zhi Tong invites Gan Yang to her place and tells him that she forgives him and that he was right to leave her because she would never have been able to handle that crisis, but she asks him to remain friends, which he refuses. She eventually decides to return to work for Gan Yang’s company, and he starts pursuing her again without success. Zhi Tong discovers that her neighbor is actually one of the big bosses of her company, Wang Se, and informs him that she does not wish to be friends with him (he does not take it well either). He begins to overload her schedule so that she has no time to spend with Gan Yang.

Episode 24

Wang Sen attaque sérieusement Zhi Tong et ne lui laisse plus une seconde pour passer du temps avec Gan Yang qui est fou de jalousie. Zhi Tong ne voit rien à son petit manège et se jette à corps perdu dans le travail pour éviter Gan Yang dont elle est encore amoureuse. Ming Mei et Qin Chang se rapprochent et se retrouvent à Beijing ou Ming Mei assiste à une conférence de Qin Chang. Ils passent ensuite la soirée ensemble et Qin Chang ramène Ming Mei saoule chez lui, en tout bien tout honneur. Ming Mei fait ensuite comprendre à Zhi Tong que Wang Sen utilise probablement son pouvoir pour rester auprès d’elle alors que Gan Yang organise un team building pour se rapprocher d’elle.

Episode 24

Wang Sen seriously attacks Zhi Tong and leaves her with no time to spend with Gan Yang, who is furious with jealousy. Zhi Tong does not see through his little game and throws herself into work to avoid Gan Yang, whom she is still in love with. Ming Mei and Qin Chang grow closer and find themselves in Beijing, where Ming Mei attends a conference by Qin Chang. They then spend the evening together, and Qin Chang takes a drunken Ming Mei back to his place, in all innocence. Ming Mei later hints to Zhi Tong that Wang Sen is likely using his power to stay close to her while Gan Yang organizes a team-building event to get closer to her.

Episode 25

Wang Sen passe à la vitesse supérieure et demande à Gan Yang de choisir entre son entreprise ou Ding Zhi Tong et quand Gan Yang refuse de choisir, Wang Sen s’arrange pour lui voler un brevet et mettre son entreprise en péril. Gan Yang se met à travailler comme un forcené pour résoudre le problème et Zhi Tong se met à avoir peur pour lui. Elle finit par comprendre que Wang Sen est derrière tout ça et le confronte, il ne nie pas et elle décide d’arrêter de travailler avec lui (et il ne comprend pas pourquoi). Ming Mei découvre qu’elle a un cancer du sein alors qu’elle est sur le point de se mettre en couple avec Qin Chang et Qin Chang découvre aussi la nouvelle par hasard alors qu’il allait la demander en mariage.

Episode 25

Wang Sen steps up his game and demands that Gan Yang choose between his company or Ding Zhi Tong, and when Gan Yang refuses to choose, Wang Sen schemes to steal a patent from him and jeopardize his company. Gan Yang starts working tirelessly to solve the problem, and Zhi Tong begins to worry for him. She eventually realizes that Wang Sen is behind all this and confronts him; he does not deny it, and she decides to stop working with him (and he does not understand why). Ming Mei discovers that she has breast cancer just as she is about to get into a relationship with Qin Chang, and Qin Chang also learns the news by chance while he was planning to propose to her.

Episode 26

Wang Sen finit par racheter à Gan Yang les parts qu’il avait dans la société dans laquelle il voulait investir et il décide de le mettre plus bas que terre (c’est à dire pire que 6 ans auparavant) pour qu’il n’ose même pas espérer se remettre avec Zhi Tong. Gan Yang décide de relocaliser son entreprise dans sa ville natale pour économiser et Zhi Tong decide de l’aider à vendre son stock de produits malgré les bâtons que Wang Sen leur met dans les roues. Elle finit par trouver un acquéreur et tous les deux s’embrassent pour fêter ça et alors qu’ils sont sur le point de passer à la vitesse supérieure (oui oui vous avez bien lu), Zhi Tong se referme et s’enfuie. Le lendemain, Gan Yang découvre qu’elle est partie dans son village natal pour l’anniversaire de la mort de sa mère, morte le soir où Gan Yang a rompu avec elle et à qui elle n’a pas pu faire ses adieux car elle était bloquée dans la ville de Gan Yang. Qin Chang demande Ming Mei en marriage et lui promet de rester à ses côtés pour toujours quoi qu’il arrive et elle accepte (quelle femme saine d’esprit aurait refusé franchement ?!).

Episode 26

Wang Sen ends up buying Gan Yang’s shares in the company he wanted to invest in and decides to put him down worse than he was six years ago so that he does not even dare to hope to get back together with Zhi Tong. Gan Yang decides to relocate his company to his hometown to save money, and Zhi Tong decides to help him sell his stock of products despite the obstacles Wang Sen puts in their way. She eventually finds a buyer, and the two of them kiss to celebrate, but as they are about to take things further (yes, you read that right), Zhi Tong shuts down and runs away. The next day, Gan Yang discovers that she has gone to her hometown for the anniversary of her mother’s death, who died on the night Gan Yang broke up with her, and to whom she could not say goodbye because she was stuck in Gan Yang’s city. Qin Chang proposes to Ming Mei and promises to stand by her forever, no matter what happens, and she accepts (which sane woman would refuse, honestly?!).

Episode 27

Gan Yang quitte Shanghai pour sa ville natale, Ming Mei commence son traitement et Zhi Tong obtient sa promotion mais elle continue à penser à Gan Yang. Zhi Tong rejette officiellement Wang Sen qui le prend mal et décide d’attaquer à nouveau Gan Yang en s’alliant à son principal concurrent. Ming Mei fait croire à Gan Yang que c’est Zhi Tong qui est malade et il se précipite à ses côtés. Elle le rassure et l’informe qu’elle a encore besoin de temps. En aidant Ming Mei à tester la nouvelle version de son application de rencontre, Zhi Tong découvre que Gan Yang lui a régulièrement laissé des messages toutes ces années et elle comprend qu’elle doit maintenant faire un pas vers lui qui ne l’a jamais lâchée.

Episode 27

Gan Yang leaves Shanghai for his hometown, Ming Mei begins her treatment, and Zhi Tong receives her promotion, but she continues to think about Gan Yang. Zhi Tong officially rejects Wang Sen, who takes it badly and decides to attack Gan Yang again by teaming up with his main competitor. Ming Mei makes Gan Yang believe that Zhi Tong is the one who is sick, and he rushes to her side. She reassures him and informs him that she still needs time. While helping Ming Mei test the new version of her dating app, Zhi Tong discovers that Gan Yang has been leaving her messages regularly all these years, and she realizes that she must now take a step towards him, who has never let her go.

Episode 28

Zhi Tong démissionne et file rejoindre Gan Yang pour ne plus jamais le quitter. Gan Yang est confronté à un choix, continuer à produire ses baskets habituelles ou lancer une toute nouvelle paire au risque de tout perdre si elle ne se vend pas. Soutenu par ses équipes et Zhi Tong, il décide de lancer une nouvelle paire qui se vend comme des petits pains, son entreprise est donc sauvée.

1 an plus tard, Gan Yang est de retour à Shanghai dans un nouveau siège flambant neuf et avec Zhi Tong à ses côtés. Le traitre qui avait fait fuiter le brevet à son concurrent fait faillite et se rend à la police et Zhi Tong et Qin Chang montent leur fond d’investissement pour aider les gens à réaliser leurs rêves. Gan Yang finit par demander Zhi Tong en mariage et tous les deux se promettent de manger, courir et profiter de la vie ensemble pour toujours.

Episode 28

Zhi Tong quits her job and rushes to join Gan Yang so that she never has to leave him again. Gan Yang faces a choice: continue producing his usual sneakers or launch an entirely new pair, risking everything if it doesn’t sell. Supported by his teams and Zhi Tong, he decides to launch a new pair that sells like hotcakes, thus saving his company.

One year later, Gan Yang is back in Shanghai in a brand new headquarters with Zhi Tong by his side. The traitor who leaked the patent to his competitor goes bankrupt and turns himself in to the police, and Zhi Tong and Qin Chang start their investment fund to help people realize their dreams. Gan Yang finally proposes to Zhi Tong, and they promise to eat, run, and enjoy life together forever.

Mon avis

J’ai bien aimé ce drama, mais je n’ai pas non plus été totalement accrochée ou investie comme j’ai pu l’être avec d’autres. Je pense que c’est un drama très doux, agréable à regarder, apaisant même — mais il ne faut pas s’attendre à être complètement happé par l’histoire ou à le dévorer en 24 heures.

Ce que j’ai adoré ❤️

• Un scénario touchant et réaliste : Une belle histoire, bien écrite, qui dépeint avec justesse les enjeux du monde du travail (du moins dans leur secteur) et la manière dont il peut impacter la vie personnelle.
• Une bande-son mémorable : Une bande originale magnifique, avec des passages qui rappellent fortement celle du drama Goblin – une vraie réussite sur le plan musical.

Ce que j’ai moins aimé

• Un personnage principal trop sage : J’ai préféré Chen Fei Yu dans Lighter and Princess : certes plein de red flags et un peu sombre, mais nettement plus captivant. Ici, je l’ai trouvé trop lisse et fade.
• Un couple secondaire sacrifié J’ai été bien plus investie dans la relation entre Ming Mei et Chang Qin que dans le couple principal. Malheureusement, le drama les a mis de côté alors qu’ils méritaient clairement un meilleur développement.

My opinion

I enjoyed this drama, but I wasn’t completely hooked or emotionally invested like I have been with others. I think it’s a very gentle and pleasant watch — soothing, even — but don’t expect to be totally drawn in or to binge it in 24 hours.

What I loved ❤️

• A touching and realistic storyline : A beautiful, well-written story that realistically portrays the challenges of the professional world (at least in their field) and how it can affect one’s personal life.

• A memorable soundtrack: The soundtrack is stunning, with several moments that strongly resemble the OST of Goblin — a true musical highlight.

What I liked less

• A main character too polished : I preferred Chen Fei Yu in Lighter and Princess — full of red flags and a bit dark, but far more entertaining. Here, I found him too bland and smooth.
• A neglected secondary couple : I was much more invested in the relationship between Ming Mei and Chang Qin than in the main couple. Sadly, the drama seemed to forget about them, even though they clearly deserved better development.

Je recommande ce drama, car il vaut tout de même le détour : il est doux, bien écrit, et agréable à suivre. Mais si vous cherchez à être complètement happés, à vivre une romance torride ou à enchaîner les rebondissements à la chaîne… passez votre tour !

I do recommend this drama — it’s definitely worth watching: gentle, well-written, and pleasant overall. But if you’re looking to be totally hooked, swept up in a steamy romance, or hit with plot twists at every turn… this one might not be for you.
